There are times in our lives when we face things that seem impossible. From illnesses we can't cure, to situations that feel impossible to get out of to taking on huge tasks that feel humanly impossible to accomplish. We might try to work through it ourselves, trying to tough it out, but you can only do that for so long before you burn out. In times like these, it's ever more important to lean into God and rely on Him to guide you. He's the creator of the universe and knows you by name - is anything impossible for Him? .
«Jesus looked at them and said, "With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God."» - Mark 10:27

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart...”
Isn’t this amazing? What a powerful reminder of God’s promises for us!
God knows us and has planned everything for us even before we were born. We have this Father who is unconditionally loving, forgiving and has control of all things. Despite the highs and lows in life, and expectations we might have of things we want to achieve, we must remain faithful in trusting the Lord. His plans for us are far greater than what we can imagine. His promises are what we must hold onto. There is nothing worse than turning our backs from God and thinking we can do all the things on our own. We need Him, more than anything.
If today, you have been backslidden because of all the busyness in life, take this time and really reflect, repent, and re-invite Him back into your heart once again.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." - Colossians 3:23-24
In our busy lives, with our jobs, our studies and exams, it's easy to let everything distract you. We're working for grades or for achievements, and in the short term, maybe that's true. But it's important to take a step back and remember why we actually do anything: to bring glory to God. We should be working hard and with integrity to lift His name up higher - and not our own. So maybe take some time to reflect on your motivations, are you working so hard so that you can feel good about yourself, so that others (or even yourself) sees you as successful or 'smart'? Or are you working to glorify God and let His power shine through everything you do?
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV
The bible mentions that these three qualities are the key in our lives. Faith and hope often comes together -
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 NIV
It is whenever and whatever situation we are at, we still remain that hope in the Lord that He is able, He has controls of it all, He will not leave us nor forsake us. We have a confident hope of an eternal life with God. And when experiencing any twists and turns in life, we still rejoice in Him and be thankful of these that He planned for us to grow in faith, hope and love.
Lastly, in 1 Corinthians 13, it talks about the spiritual gifts, and one thing to always keep in mind is that in whatever you do, if there is no love, it is nothing.
Now, in your quiet time with God, pray that you will grow in these qualities in Him, His guidance, and that you will continue to have faith in His promises
"Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them". And Elisha prayed, "Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see." Then the Lord opens the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
(2 Kings 6:16-17)
This exchange happened between Elisha the prophet and his servant while Israel was at war with another nation. That morning, the servant had woken up to see the enemy army, horses and chariots surrounding the city. But Elisha knew that there was no reason for fear, that the Lord's army was on their side, outnumbering the enemies and ready to fight for Israel. This is a testament of God's love for His people - whatever we're battling with, be it an army of thousands, stress from work or school, or even our own minds, God is on our side. His love for us is bigger than anything and everything that stands in our way and the battle is already won. So lift up your struggles and fears to God and He will be your strength and you will win this battle.
"Having been blessed with a family that loves the Lord, I’ve been a Christian for almost all my life, but I have always shied away from baptism. Despite desperately wanting to be baptised, I let the fear of speaking in front of people convince me that it wasn’t necessary for my devotion to God. But if I won’t even speak to a crowd of people who share my faith, then how am I truly devoted to Him and prepared to follow Him wherever he may lead me? I want to get baptised today because I don’t want to allow fear to hold me back from declaring my love for Him and my thankfulness for all that He has done and will continue to do." - Eliana Gowlett
