A photo from @afrogallonism’s latest work, “360 La”: an open studio exhibition in the local township where Serge (the artist) works. His art is inspired by the traditions of the people whose stories of migration and trade have shaped the community. By inviting the audience to participate in the work, the artist continues and extends his practice of performance imbued with symbolism and activism.
Photographer @annebarlinckhoff’s exploration of form and colour is underpinned by her use of the body. Her images resonate with creatives the world over due to her abstraction of the otherwise familiar human figure. Above is some of our favourite and most recent work of hers.

Kofi Annan has died aged 80. Whether it was his pioneering work as the first black UN Secretary General, or as special envoy to Syria, Annan relentlessly worked to champion our shared vision of a new and United Africa. His legacy lives on in the the work of all those who refuse to let history marginalise perceptions of the less fortunate. Rest in peace.
I had some amazing teachers who invested time and energy to make sure I understood and mastered concepts. He struggled with mathematical concepts but by the end, he smiled, turned to me, and said, "I like this, I want another one." The next day he rushed over with his notebook, and said- look- he'd gotten all the homework problems correct! It just takes time. He deserved more- so I gave him more. @teachforghana @mscarolramirez
