Tim invited me to an MLS game between the NY Red Bulls and Sporting Kansas City. Tim, a dedicated Red Bulls fan, walked me through the match details, player stats, and fan culture. The match went to the Red Bulls who turned things around in the last fifteen minutes to tie and then win the game 3-2. Their new coach Chris Armas was welcomed graciously by fans and the team for their rollercoaster victory and following the game there was plenty of cheer to go around. The stadium was a network of enthusiasm unlike anything I'd ever felt before watching it on TV or at a bar. It's the very pulse that the players and the fans exudes truly makes the game what it is. The fans support the players, and the players support the fans, a family of sorts.
