Dog hair can be a very difficult challenging when learning to detail. There's many special vacuums and brushes but you can collect all that hair into a ball by rubbing a latex glove over the mat. Another tip is to toss that hair directly into a trash can because hair is a vacuum killer 💀
Pictured here are two hex logic foam polishing pads from @chemicalguys . Both of them have been used on black cars but only one of them was cleaned. I had someone ask me how many times they can use a pad before they have to throw it away and buy some more. The truth is that your pads can last you up to a year, only a few months, even a few weeks. It all depends on how well you maintain your pads, the more you use them in the more you wash them the more wear and tear is going to be on the pads. I'll be making more posts about different types of pads and paint correction steps because although paint correction is a very valuable skill not many people know what paint correction really is I think that most people should know it especially if your weekend detailer or you just love caring for your car yourself

Here's a hint for you! 🤓
Headlights become oxidized over time due to weather and excessive sunlight and it's something that will always happen. The process can be slowed down by applying a sealant or coating. When lights do become oxidized it will reduce your visibility and worsen the appearance of your vehicle. To properly clear the headlights you must use different levels of sandpaper and wet sand the faded plastic off the surface. Next a compound is applied to the lights to remove the fine scratches and make it smooth. Then a polish is applied to clear any hazing left by the compound, both the compound and polish are applied with a rotary polisher. The final step is to add a sealant to protect it. 🔦
Happy New Year's Eve!

This tile was white but after wheel decontamination you can see the runoff of brake dust and dirt. Brake dust will corrode your wheels causing permanent damage and sometimes you must pull out the iron remover to break it down but remember that iron remover is not only smelly but dangerous if it comes in contact with skin. Always use safety glasses and gloves when cleaning your wheels! 👓
Leather should be regularly maintained and wiped down. Leather is a lot like skin and will collect dirt and oils that will alter the looks of the material. When cleaning you should always use the least aggressive methods first to avoid any damage. No leather should be shiny, instead it should be a matte 🤓✔️
TIP OF THE DAY! 🤓
Lifting windshield wipers during a wash is important and often a step skipped by new detailers. It prevents soap and water run off getting trapped and drying on the wipers and windshield. Once you step inside of your vehicle after a fresh detail the windshield is one of the first things you notice and if there is streaks and dry soap then it'll will quickly defeat all the hard work you previously did while detailing your vehicle. Make sure you lift those blades up but be careful not to knock them down. You can clean wiper blades with a cloth or cotton ball with a little bit of distilled vinegar! Detailing is not just cleaning your vehicle, it's maintaining your vehicle!
Decontamination of the paint goes deeper than just a wash, it removes stuck in and possibly corrosive debris. It's essential before a wax to prevent sealing in any foreign contaminants and important before paint correction to prevent further damage of the paint and your pads! 💦
It was a pleasure to finally meet @sinister_srt he's a cool guy and this car is so much better in person! Videos and pictures do this Challenger no Justice 😈 last night was definitely a great night of photography and fun. I'm looking forward to meeting with you boys again! 🤘🔥
Overtime dirt, brake dust, and debris will accumulate on wheels and tires. Brake dust is corrosive and over time will actually eat away at your wheels causing permanent damage. Regular maintenance is key to maintaining the condition and looks of your wheels. In a wash process always start with the wheels and tires first then wash the paint to avoid any splashing of dirt onto your clean paint. 👌💦🚘
I truly love being an active part of the car community, it's great to meet so many from not just Santa Fe but Albuquerque and all the northern cities. I love seeing their cars and hearing about their plans for the vehicles and struggles getting it to where it's at now. I don't do this for fame or for the money, I do this because it makes me happy and although it's not all pretty and I've gotta get cleaning vomit sometimes it's all worth it at the end of the day. Keep building your car's and following your dreams. Know Zia Detailing has got your back to clean and protect your car for years to come 🙌🚘👌
One of the most important parts of properly washing a car is cleaning the actual details. Getting a brush and scrubbing the grill, emblems, badges, and window seals. All of these pieces are normally skipped over but will tie together all the hard work put into the car 👌
