Favourite part of the weekend: grocery shopping! A lot of people think that in choosing to be zero waste and vegetarian I choose to limit myself. But actually that's not true, because it has opened my eyes to all the not so "convenient" foods that are out there which I previously never considered. Tofu. Shitake mushrooms. PUMPKIN, my new favourite food. I now focus on what I Can, instead of what I Can't. I just realised my food haul this week is 100% #plantbased . Slow and steady!
I highly recommend reading ”Zero Waste Home”. Beginning the zero waste journey can seem overwhelming and I love how she breaks it down into different categories. I’m currently reading about how to reduce junk mail 💪🏻
Creating a Christmas of Moments (not things) #1
Give the gift of creativity this festive season with an art class.
Local artists, art schools and creative studios have a range of offerings from taster classes to a full year of classes. ✨$ - Gather some simple art supplies and some paper and take your loved one into nature. Spend an hour sitting underneath a canopy of trees drawing what you see or head to the beach and draw a landscape or some seaside finds. (Having a few sheets of high-quality paper to use can make a nice collection of art worthy of hanging. Perhaps choose a few slow hours over summer painting or drawing a series of work together) ✨$$ - Chat with a local artist, creative friend or art teacher who may offer a one off art class. There are so many talented folks around that are more than willing to share their time and expertise. ✨$$$ - Find an art school or creative studio who offer formal art classes.
BYRON - @meetmakecreate - creative classes for children

Selamat Hari Minggu, jangan lupa cabut steker tak terpakainya yaa 😊.
I love coming to @vapianous! I feel like this is one of the few restaurants where you can eat without having to go out of your way to avoid plastic!
They don't have straws, all their drinks come in a glass bottle.
They have a wall of fresh herbs that you can pick and put in your meal.
You order, get your food, and eat without having to wait for waiters.
I absolutely love this place. The pasta is handmade in each location (they have a pasta factory in each restaurant) and everything is very natural. 🌿
Definitely one of my favorite places to spend Saturday night.
We are often asked: Can men use our razors? Of course. While we decided to build our razor with women in mind, and specific women's needs (low aggressiveness among others), they also work for men. They are especially great for men who are new to safety razors for example!
Only person at the venue to clear security with a glass container!! 🤷♂️ Some may think this is magic. Some may not believe it at all... but It is possible to bring filtered, toxin-free water from home with you ANYWHERE you go! No excuses 😉 If you want to know how I made it happen (since glass containers were off-limits at this concert) I simply went beyond my fear of rejection or judgment and asked for my right to be given access to clean water!! I informed the staff this was medical grade water from home (I drink RO with added trace minerals) and that I can’t drink anything at the venue because of the contaminates and allergies to most, if not all of them. I was questioned at first to the extent most would run to the car and ditch the bottle. And you know I won’t purchase plastic water bottles for reasons we need to discuss for many reasons. Instead, I stayed and defended myself. Don’t sacrifice your ethics to make others comfortable... and let’s get this country some clean f**king water!! #GoBeyondFear#CleanWaterForAll 💧
PS- @chrisdaughtry had us dancing like some fools all night! Always good vibes, thanks for the hospitality my brother!! 🕺🏻
I’m so excited! Facial rounds are finally available in the shop.
They’re a great alternative to disposal make up remover pads. Safe some money and the environment at the same time. *I’ll be adding more colors and some prints over the next few weeks.
We are in two places at once today: our local the Albany Boatshed Markets and day two of @gourmetescape ...... but first things first a dip in the ocean in Margaret River 🏊♂️ then ☕️ and 🥐 THEN work 🐝🐝🐝
🇬🇧(🇫🇷en dessous 🤗) I tried to buy tights today ... it was a big fail 😔❌ I went to a few stores and couldn't find any tights not packed into plastic ... I want to continue wearing my dresses but my last tights got torn too easily and I have none left ... so, my question is : where could I find #packagefree tights ? 🌿Or at least some resistant ones for me not to have to buy dozens of them during winter ?

It’s National Take a Hike Day! If you haven’t already, get outside this weekend. Why? Science says: reduced stress, restored energy, improved creativity, and so.much.more. .
Don’t have much time, or live in a city? Good thing #natureiseverywhere , so just step outside and see what you can find. You’ll hear birds, see insects and plants. Take a second to appreciate nature, which is good for you and good for it. #rootedlife
As I was researching the Blue Shark for the first batch of shark resumes, I came across an image of a small shark, lying on the ocean floor, with no fins. This is the heartbreaking true story of millions of sharks in our oceans. The inhumane practice of shark finning involves cutting off the shark’s pectoral, dorsal and caudal fin followed by throwing it back into the ocean where it sinks to the ocean floor and drowns. Share their story, refuse to consume products made from sharks and help support our ocean predators. They are not mindless killing machines. We are.
When I was young my mum used to force me to put coconut oil in my hair about once a month. I hated it, and was convinced it was just an old Indian wives’ tale that putting oil in your hair actually does anything except make you look greasy and smell weird.
I can’t remember exactly when it happened, but I’m now the fiercest of oil evangelists. The good news is that oils – on their own or in elaborate combinations – are having their moment in the beauty and skincare scene (which is great because now I look like less of a weirdo for having so many of them 😬)
As a tribute to the wonders they’ve bestowed upon me, I wrote a post detailing my favourite oils and their various virtues:
•Coconut Oil: My ride or die. I put it in my hair as an overnight treatment once a week, as a moisturiser, as a makeup remover, and in a hand salve and deodourant I’ve made 🥥
•Derma E Face Oil: I’ve had several different iterations of this type of product, and they’ve all contained a mix of a few different oils, including jojoba, almond, vitamin e, and assorted others. It’s a thinner and more absorbent, and I use it on my face at night, or as a primer before makeup.
•Jamaican Black Castor Oil: I use a tiny amount of this on my eyelashes and eyebrows at night before bed. Within 2 weeks I noticed that my lashes were fuller and longer, no joke 👁👁
•Peace Rose Cleansing Oil: My backup face wash if I need a deeper clean than just some coconut oil and warm water.
•Grapefruit Essential Oil: I use a few drops of this in cleaning supplies I make (like countertop spray or toilet bowl cleaner) and I’ve added some to my homemade hand salve and to my deodourant.
•Mineral Oil: I’m not exactly sure what this contains, but it works so well on wooden kitchen utensils! It keeps the wood from drying out and splintering, which elongates its lifespan.
Do you have any go-to oils or natural remedies that you can’t live without?

Christmas season is coming up ❤️!! ❤️), and that means present needs to be wrapped! 🎁
Zero waste is all about planning and even in the busy Christmas season, gift wrapping can be made zero waste. ---
We've not bought wrapping paper or ribbons in years, but collected it from presents given to us or others for reusing ♻️
I've also collected the text pages from newspapers for wrapping, which actually turns out quite stylish 😎
I can't wait to start with the wrapping 🎅🎁🎄
Loving our new dish brush. Is that a bit sad?!! We're trying hard to stride for eco living. No more plastic brushes - ok they're not quite as cheap but actually they are not that expensive!! Head over to @brightonfrog - they have lots of great stuff and they are super quick & helpful! And you're helping our beautiful planet!! 💚
