Happy National Ice Cream Day🍦This isn’t quite ice cream — it’s gelato (or sorbetto??). What’s the difference anyway… I’ve had it explained to me at least 3x but always forget lol ⠀⠀

“TAPA of LOMO” “Tapa of Tenderloin with Picual olive oil, garlic, parsley and hojiblanca olives” 🥖
Would you like to know exactly how to cook this tapa? Does it look tasty to you? 🌮
A Tapa is an appetizer that comes free with your drink in Andalusia. It depends on the city or bar, some are bigger or smaller portions. When I was studying at the University of Granada tapas in some bars were hamburgers, I guess because it is a city with so many students, but that is an oversized tapa, not the normal size. 🍖
Do you know any city with free tapas in Spain that is not in Andalusia? 🧀
Can you imagine to get for free this delicious appetizer? 🥞
Tapa was created in Andalusia to cover your glass of sweet wine and avoid getting fruit flies in your glass. What a great idea!! Don’t you think? 🍷
Do you know any other history about the beginning of the tapa? Would you like to share it with us? 🍤
Every bar has their unique tapas so the best is to go for a “ruta de la tapa” “trail of the tapa” to different bars and ask for your favourite in each one, this is fun because you can socialize with different people in different bars and get your favourite appetizers ...after 5 bars you are normally full so you don’t have to go for lunch/dinner afterwards, you go straight for a coffee and dessert at a coffee shop. ☕️ 🍪
One thing totally oposite to Canada, in Spain we order small beers, as small and cold as we can get it. The most popular bars are the ones which has the freshest beer. You want it small to avoid to get it warm holding it in your hands, why to hold it? We don’t sit at tables, we talk standing up and there is not enough space at the bar for everybody so you have to hold it ... 🍻 no 🍺
I always prefer to be at the bar more than sitting down at low tables. It is a more sociable environment for me, there are more chances to interact with others ... 🍦
Do you like to stand at the bar or sit at a low table?
Finally got to try one of these beauties at Stampede. The ice cream was actually so much creamier than I was expecting. I really thought it was going to be like a sour sorbet but it was a very creamy soft serve that tasted like watermelon candy! Delicious!
There was 17 dishes total at last night's Boodle fight with @mikaelas_kitchen. SEVENTEEN! Pictures from the Kamayan feast don't do it justice. Watch my insta stories or my #instaGNOMEreview highlights to see the entire experience. What a pleasure to dine this way. The food was excellent! Can you believe all of this + dessert & a drink was $25 pp person? 10/10 would do this again.
