The year is flying by so fast. It feels like it was just yesterday that I was snapping away at this epic tablescape. Does anyone in Australia actually celebrate Chrismas in July? I heard it is also known as Yulefest.
LAST NIGHT OF YULEFEST 2018.
The yulefest season comes to a close tonight. I've given up every Saturday night in July for the last eight years (my dad, 28 years) to be a part of this beautiful tradition and sing with my family at the Mountain Heritage Hotel.
The future of our Yulefest tradition is in question and so I go into tonight's performance with a bitter feeling. I want to enjoy what has been a favourite part of every year but we don't know what Yulefest will look like going forward so it's with a sad heart that I face tonight's performance as potentially the last.
It is ALL HAPPENING this weekend at Crackle & Bones and we could not be more excited than if Santa was coming to cook a BBQ at our place (thats's an idea) - we have The Butcher's BBQ back on Saturday with BBQ Bacon & Egg rolls, Steak Sangers and a Sausage Sizzle from 930am Saturday & Sunday AND this weekend we ALSO have CHRISTMAS in JULY - all the Roast Dinner goodness you could HO HO HOPE for from 12pm Saturday & Sunday - see you there!
The idea spread fast and now in July, the peak season in the Australian snow fields, Christmas decorations and special events are planned to attract visitors for snow themed Yulefest celebrations. Many families now build snowmen as they watch Santa Claus in the distance zig zagging through the snow slopes.
Take a peek at this masterpiece put together by the team at Unique Patisserie, on the main street of Katoomba, the nativity scene is hand made! A huge effort, well done guys! 🙌🏻 💫 🙌🏻#yulefest2018#bluemountains

Earlier this evening I donned my pre-performance Savvy makeup face (except for liquid eyeliner and mascara) ready for another night of Yulefest frivolity. It's so good to know I can doll up without harsh chemicals and without that heavy caked-on feeling. And with a drop of lavender in my mascara I can make it go further whilst promoting naturally healthy lashes. 😍
