Lets talk about cake mixes!! A ((box of cake cost)):::----- .21 cents:::---- in 1932! Which bakes out to be 3.88 in todays world. Alot of cash in those days. This humble box of cake could you anything back then, and you can do much more today. I don't pay more than one dollar, at any store in 2018, at any time. I remember reading cake mix came in a 40 ounce can back in the day. Some had powdered eggs , then you added the water. They kinda run cold in the early 1940's post war, when women felt they should bake from scratch! You know what save these boxed cakes? The Icing.... Put them back on the market again. For in those days ...we didnt eat cake everyday. Only.. On special occasions maybe four times a year, and holidays, your birthday and huge family gatherings. Cakes became labor intensified.. and with icing with all the decorations, that go on the cake (((the cake box)) was saved!! There were two kinds of woman. Make it homemade or buy, a cake mix ... fake it with decorator icing's! Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern where you cycle between periods of eating and fasting. While participating in one of my FASTer Way to Fat Loss® rounds you will learn how to properly incorporate the 16/8 IF cycle. When doing the 16/8 protocol, we eat for 8 hours and fast for 16. We use this format because it has been shown to be the most sustainable! When you fast, insulin levels drop and human growth hormone increases. HGH helps to regulate body composition, body fluids, muscle and bone growth, sugar and fat metabolism! Your cells also initiate important cellular repair processes and change which genes they express. Those are some pretty awesome things happening to you if you implement consistently practice intermittent fasting!

I used to stress out taking before and after pics with each program I did because when you’re at your goal weight, the change is not AS dramatic like before. Sometimes I felt like I failed because there was hardly ANY change. But then I got over that BS self-talk and told myself “WTF are you talking about? Look at how far you’ve come? You’ve lost a total of 40lbs, dropped down from a size 7 to a 2 and have kept it off for over 3 years! That is NOT failing Di!” (I need to talk to myself a lot because I get in my own head sometimes and I have to tell myself to get over my damn self) .
Anyway I’m excited for all our ladies in our #betterthanyesterday online bootcamp group to get a jumpstart on their New Year’s goals! I don’t look at the holidays as an excuse. I look at it as EXTRA motivation because I refuse to NOT enjoy the parties but not pack on the extra unwanted weight either. #youcanhaveyourcakeandeatittoo And the support and accountability from the ladies in our group makes it extra fun because I don’t feel like I’m doing this alone even if I don’t have to leave my house to get s*** done. .

So many people think they need to completely change how they eat or eliminate entire food groups (hello carbs!) to lose weight. That is just not true! It does not have to be a major overhaul of your life!
Did you know if you swapped out veggies for chips and ditched the top slices of bread, this alone could yield a 30lb weight loss in a year?! That is a no brainer!
Does this mean you can never eat chips or two slices of bread again? Heck no! It doesn’t have to be all or nothing! Small changes made consistently over time yield huge results! I’m living proof of that!

Woke up this A.M. to access the damage 😆 I’m proud to say we had too much fun celebrating our baby boy! And by celebrate I mean we totally ate our way through the WHOLE day... pancakes for breakfast, cookies after lunch, pizza for dinner and chocolate cake when we got home around 10:00 P.M. from the arcade! This morning I did something that the old, obsessive with my weight, unhealthy relationship with food “me” would have NEVER done! I weighed myself... and guess what!? I’m 2-3 pounds heavier! 😜 Pizza, cake and cookies will do that to ya, right? But am I batting an eye? Hell no!!!!
A year ago I would have literally said, “Screw it! I can’t even keep off 2-3 pounds after just one day of bad eating! This isn’t working!” Today I realize that taking these measurements helps us collect data (some of it completely obvious—like cake, cookies and pizza = a bad day of eating). But instead of getting totally upset by it, we can learn what foods affect our bodies most... we can limit that junk to true celebrations - not just buying the cookies, cakes, etc. just because! Yesterday my boy turned 🖐 and that’s a wonderful thing to celebrate! But we don’t eat like that everyday, or even every week! When we do, it’s ok! We have the tools to get back on track!
If we’re having more GOOD EATING DAYS than “bad” we can see that we ARE IN CONTROL, and even though the scale may inch up a little after a day like the one we had, we know how to get back to feeling GREAT! I believe in loving our lives, not living in deprivation! What do you think? Are you always fighting with yourself over food? Feeling guilty for eating this or that? Didn’t get to try this when I was in New York but both boxes came home with me 🐷🤷♀️ This stuff is good! My entire kitchen smelled like cake and it actually taste like Birthday cake with sprinkles 😍😋
🕑This recipe was actually a little more time consuming than I had originally imagined! 🎃And although you can’t see them all it’s called “Keto Triple Layer Pumpkin Cake”!!! 🧐(lol Pinterest fail/photography fail)
I think next time I will make it in a 9”x9” pan instead of the 9”x13” that was recommended in the recipe.
🍰This cake has an almond crust with pecan halves. Second layer is a cheesecake with the third layer being the pumpkin layer. Then topped off with a whipped cream topping. (So ya really a 4+step process of you include the prepping/baking/chilling time, but I digress...it was lick 😋the spoon delish after all was said and done and I’m so glad I tried another keto recipe.)
