When I was a little girl, my Dad used to put me on his feet and balance me in the air like I was flying. Sometimes to my moms horror, he would bend his knees and then cannon ball me into the air. I loved it.
Without either of us realizing it, I was being taught at a young age that daily movement can be fun and just overall makes your day better. It makes my heart so happy to see my kids adopting those habits. I hope they keep them forever. 💜

Seems almost instinctual doesn’t it...worrying? It’s a habit though. And habits can be changed.
I’m sitting here trying to think of an example when worrying actually helped me solve a problem. TBH every single situation that I overthought and created a mountain of worry about, turned out to be a tiny hill in retrospect. Don’t get me wrong, bad things have happened, some worse than I could have ever expected; but, worrying has yet to change that outcome. Whether good or bad, what was...became...regardless.
3 steps to rid yourself of worry:
1. Talk out the problem with someone rational or journal it if no one’s around. Sometimes things become more clear when the root of the problem is exposed to clean air.
2. Make a realistic list of what you can actually do to solve the problem. If you wrote something, perfect! Execute it. If not, if there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it...decide not to waste energy dwelling on it.
3. Allow yourself to acknowledge the worry. The way you feel is valid. Take a day or two if need be, to soak it all in. Then, revisit steps one and two and make a choice to let it go. Repeat as necessary.

Started my day full of gratitude today, woke up & meditated (this is new for me & actually very challenging, yet rewarding) then took my sweet girl on an hour long walk & came home unsure if I could feel my fingers or toes!🍁 Holding on to fall for dear life here in Canada! Then they asked me, “do you have anything your are self conscious about?” My reply, “not a lot, but I don’t love my belly.” To which they replied, “but you housed two babies in there!” YES! Yes, I did! And I’m proud of that! And therefore, not letting comparison be the thief of joy! .

We ALL have gifts and talents. When we cultivate those gifts and share them with the world, we create a sense of meaning and purpose in our lives.

We pay for it with our emotional and physical well-being when we don't use our talents to cultivate meaningful work. We feel disconnected and weighed down by feelings of emptiness, frustration, resentment, fear and even grief. Sharing our gifts and talents is the most powerful source of connection to God.
No one can define what is meaningful work for you. You are the only one who knows what fills that void in your heart and soul and sometimes it is a process to figure that out. You need to be more Aware about the things that make you feel joy and place yourself in those situations more often.
Once you realize your Passion and Purpose, life is more rewarding and fulfilling. It is worth the long and sometimes painful journey it can be to figure it out.
I know we still need to get through the holidays and enjoy our moments with family and friends, but it is also a good time to start thinking about what things you want to embrace this coming new year and what new journeys you would like to embark on.

It's never too late or to early to start! As we are focusing on all we are thankful for and all the blessing that have been poured over us this year I tend to also reflect on self improvement/struggles. This often times brings up my short comings and areas in my life I've been struggling with. I strive to be the best me I can be not only for myself but for all the lives I touch and impact as well! So as I reflect on the areas that need work (my patience at times), the areas I totally neglect (communication with long distance friends), and the areas I excel at (service and serving my family) I began to realize the purpose resolutions and goals isn't to start a new year with a bang but to encourage self reflection and growth all year through. Goals and resolutions should be written, worked towards, revisited, and revised often. We should be working on our self daily, weekly, and monthly - all year through because we are worth it!

Wednesday’s mantra during my run: I love my machine (aka body). It’s been 3+ weeks since I’ve gone on a run or have maintained any consistency in my health and wellness (oh shadow side, I love you and embrace you). I fell into a slump of loneliness, questioning myself, rebelling against all the good that I have chosen for my life, and allowed myself too much of the food I know doesn’t make me feel good (but satisfies my tastebuds fully!) Sometimes I get frustrated that my system is hypersensitive but then also prone to overdoing it with not enough moderation, so I’m still working on balance❤️ I’m realizing even more now that life is a continuous series of feeling good, feeling not-so-good, being on your “A” game and then just as quickly slipping from that high place. We can recognize how much we’ve grown, changed and evolved by how long it takes us to get back to the place where we feel our best most consistently. Much of that is checking the dialogue that streams in my head throughout the day. I hadn’t been very nice to myself either, so positive affirmations have been helping tremendously! Let’s face it, being a human is fucking hard. I’ll be writing more on the blog 🤗.
