For Day 18 of the #FourSeasonsYogis challenge we take a break from asana. I want to know what you guys do to show Gratitude?🙏🏻 I admit that sometimes I get caught up in my own life and forget how truly blessed I am. Nothing that I’m sure we all haven’t done from time to time. We are human after all. What makes my heart full and feel like I’m living my best life is to give back to others💜 This holiday season I will be taking my son to help serve food at a homeless shelter. I continue to volunteer my time teaching yoga to kiddos with behavioral issues. I’m always striving to give or help those that need it and I want to teach my kids the same values. Giving back does not have to be anything of monetary value. It could be giving your time by reading to a child, helping a family member or neighbor in need, volunteering , picking up trash, simply being kind to a stranger...the list goes on and on. Let’s make a difference in this world! Be the reason someone smiles each day😊

So, I’m moving next week and have packed a grand total of ✌🏼 boxes so far. I keep telling myself it’s because I still need a lot of the stuff while I’m living where I am. But maybe it’s because I’m subconsciously not ready to move on? It’s a new area, granted not far, but right now I live about two blocks from where I grew up so it’s comfortable and safe to me. I’m trying to remind myself that “Anxiety is a liar” as the amazing Karen of @myfavoritemurder says. I’m hoping that this small step of loving outside of my comfort zone may be the first of many. Anxiety be damned! ⠀
“If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant, or weak, return to yourself, to who you are, here and now and when you get there, you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong.”
Masaru Emoto // the idea of self care seems simple & truthfully I used to laugh about people who thought it was hard but I’ve learned self care & being selfish are not the same. Self care is waking up when it’s still dark to flow because of how it will impact my day, forcing myself to read a book pleasure when I want to scroll, self care isn’t sleeping in and eating snacks 24/7 (even tho it is sometimes hehe) giving myself softness but also being tough is a hard balance. Learning to push myself for myself ✨
Day 23 of 30 #dubaifitnesschallenge .
Only one week left to go! So lets make it a good one 👌😊. This was me yesterday @thedubaiwomensrun chilling. I had very sore hamstrings so had to take this 5km fairly steady, but was happy to learn that I was placed 13 out of 971 ladies! Well done to everyone though for taking part - this event did really live up to encompassing 'the spirit of women in the region and their empowerment'. I had to applaud the lady running next to me as she ran a couple of steps out of her way to place her empty water bottle in a bin- I have NEVER seen anyone do this in a reace before!!
I think November is the best time to spend time with yourself and ask yourself all the important questions: what is important and what not? Am I forcing too much onto myself and do I need to prioritize? It’s the month of mindfulness. I definitely need to do this. My body has been telling me to slow down for weeks in form of frequent reoccurring migraines, so I will. Listen to your body, take this bad weather thing as a chance to be on your own, go deeper and look whether your body might be telling you something too. Slow down, reflect, be mindful. And especially now, when energy might be low, don’t let other people drain you emotionally.
I love the rain but not when I almost break my leg from slipping on a wet yoga mat so I had to eventually ditch the beach and continue indoors.
Working on my hamstrings today and this was the outcome so I'm quite chuffed. I could never get deep enough into the stretch to the point that my fingertips meet behind my back but now they finally do. Still got a lot more to work on with this stretch but all in due time. @yoga.offical #yoga @yogafeature @yogspiration #yogafeature#yogspiration
Lost and tired during a long hike, my back and legs needed a break. But I was in the middle of lush greenery, breathing in clean crisp air, high on top of a hill overlooking a beautiful (albeit foggy) city, with my human. Who was I to complain?
There is a tool that we
often forget we posses;
Inhale long and
take a deep breath.
Hold it in, then exhale
slowly to release;
Allowing the mind, body
and soul to harmonize in peace.
