You have officially entered into a contract with inspiration and you must try to see it through, all the way to its impossible- to - predict outcome. ~ Elizabeth Gilbert
My life this year has been a contract with inspiration, hence The Inspired Life YTT! Through creating this training and my retreats it feels as though I’m lock into an unspoken agreement. I can either crumple it up which leads to the scary unknown or keep living creatively which also leads to the unknown. Knowing that either way leads to an impossible to predict outcome makes my choice easy. I will keep living from inspiration. I will keep putting ideas into creation ❤️😊 .
It was an amazing day of Naam Yoga and teachings from Dr. Joseph Michael Levry at the Ross School in East Hampton. Thank you Terri Bialsky for introducing us to this practice and to Lori Schiaffino-fellow Compass agent-for making it possible to gather at the Ross School. 🙏
Dr. Levry founded Naam Yoga in 2006 and today, the healing powers of this practice are being used by scientists at Sloan-Kettering to help children with cancer. If you're ready for a life changing experience, Naam Yoga New York on the Upper West Side offers classes.
Last weekend I complete the #kidsyoga certification with @zoogayoga_culvercity ! I learned about programming for different ages groups, best practices for teaching kids, and was reminded of the importance of personal practice.
Yesterday I was able to use some of these new skills - to help myself!! I had gotten stuck in a negative and repetitive pattern of thinking... **
In mind, I remember the way Megan had used her words/tone to gently guide young children back to the mat. Instead of scolding or hurrying them, they were continually encouraged to return. Sometimes it took a few comments, and sometimes they would only come back if they had to (to participate or see something)
I used this concept in my own mind, to myself. I found myself thinking.... mayaaaa... maaaaayaaa... it's okay Maya, we don't have to make ourselves feel bad about that. It's okay! And so on...
Without the pressure of "having" to get there, I soon found myself relaxed and back to work.
We are all mirrors for each other... especially people we don't like, and those who seem the most different (in age, gender, race, income, etc). Learning how to treat others, especially including the frustrations, helps us acknowledge our own shortcomings, and grow and move forward.
Thanks again to @zoogayoga_culvercity for an awesome training, and to all the rad #yogis I got to work with 😊😊
well·ness - "the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort." We sent yogis from @theflocksocialclub and @arisewellness.ca to @nirvanaretreats with pre-packaged meals that they nailed preparing and plating themselves - well done ladies!
Shown here are the Stuffed Sweet Potatoes with Crispy Chickpeas, Cherry Tomatoes and Garlic Dill Hummus, a Green Thai Curry with Crunchy Thai Peanut Salad, and Macro Bowls with Assorted Leafy Greens, Wild Rice, Tamarind Spiced Sweet Potatoes, Carrot & Coriander Falafels all in a Turmeric Tahini Dressing.
