I’ve been inundated with posts about international yoga day today 😍 I just wanted to add my gratitude into the mix for all my teachers and everything that the practice of yoga awakens within. Yoga is my new zen place. A time for just me to focus on my breath, calming down, what I want, what I need to rid my life of, who I'm grateful for, and appreciation for my body and what it can do even though I struggle in almost every pose and I often wonder if I'll ever get better at the practice but that shift in my mind for anything from 10-45min a few times a week has so improved my life. I'm very grateful to have learned to love it and that @toneitup understands the importance of #yoga to our health.
If you haven't tried it yet...you should. It's not about being good...it is about taking the time out for you. @glennondoyle talks in her book #lovewarrior about her first yoga experience and how it changed her but how all she did was sit on the mat for the whole class because that was all she could do and even that was difficult but that simple sit on the mat changed her forever.
And to all you bendy #yogis with your inversions...you are my goals!! 💪

There’s something so magical about a great yoga session!! No matter what I walk in with, I walk out feeling lighter, brighter and more capable. ✨
I love syncing my body and my breath. I love how my thoughts just evaporate...

I truly do not know what I was doing before yoga came in to my life. I am a kinder, more mindful, and a more grateful soul because of it. Yoga brings me the type of happiness that is hard to describe. It brings me the feeling of abundance that radiates chills up my spine and all the way to my hair follicles. It fills my heart up with so much love & light. ✨💛
It connects me to my higher self. It allows me to tap in to this beautiful meditation state where there is no other way to describe it, besides deeming I am fully “blissed out.” But that’s what my ebook is for – to guide and support you to increase your knowledge on how you can cultivate your mind, body, and soul connection. ✨💫🙏🏼✨💫

Happy #Internationalyogaday !! Two years ago my friend @diggyydiggs took me to a yoga class and I had no idea what to expect. Yoga seemed to be slow and boring and something rich white people did in their spare time. I didn’t understand the benefits.... until I took my first class. After that I was hooked! Not only did yoga exceed my expectations, it also transformed the way I looked at my body. It taught me how to truly utilize every muscle in my body and learn to appreciate how hard my body works everyday! Each practice creating a stronger awareness of my mind, body, and spirit, allowing me to connect consciously to the universe in a way I’ve never experienced before. Fast forward two years later and I’m a much more mindful and self-aware being. Much more confident, more courageous and a lot stronger! I aim to practice gratitude daily and to appreciate each breath because yoga has taught me that the only thing that matters is what’s happening at this very moment. I just want to shout out all my #yogis on this day who have the courage to try something new on their mat everyday and push their body beyond the worldly limits that your mind has set on yourself. Taking that practice off the mat and working to fill the world with positive energy and affirmative thinking is the Yogi way! 🧘🏾♀️ #internationalyogaday
It may be dreary outside, but we are celebrating the first day of summer tonight at our @yogaview Chicago location with live music and “light” feel good energy, 6:15pm -7:30pm.☀️

Este día lo he usado para reflexionar sobre la forma salvaje en que a mí parecer se ha comenzado a comercializar esto, la forma desmesurada en que venden cursos, en cómo se ha ido desvirtuando, te venden una imagen de cómo supuestamente tiene que lucir un/a Yogui, cayendo en la falsa idea de que mientras más compres ciertas cosas vas a parecer más Yogui delante del resto, alejando a personas que se sienten excluidas y no cumpliendo ciertos "requisitos" que la publicidad te vende , y la verdad es que me gustaría decirles que no es así, y me apena ver como el marketing ha ido consumiendo, el hambre por vender cursos a precios a niveles casi ridículos solo por lucrar con el autoconocimiento y la espiritualidad... Siento y creo que uno puede vivir de esto, pero siempre siendo conciente de que cuando el ego y la ambición prevalece, la escencia de lo que estás entregando se pierde
El yoga llegó a salvarme de mi misma
