🙋🏻♂️🔘 Happy Sunday ☀️ I’m back on my #Yoloha 🌳 #YogaWheel for #Eagle or #Garudasana balance pose just before my 🧘🏻♂️ yoga class starts ...
“To see a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour.” – William Blake
ॐ Garudasana 🔘👑🦅 Eagle Pose ॐ
Although it is called #eaglepose in English, #garudasana is named for a #divine#creature . In South Asia, a #garuda is a huge, #mythical bird with the #golden body of a man, a #white face, #red wings, and an eagle's beak. He is the king of the bird community, the enemy of snakes, and the friend of humans. #Garuda is the vehicle of #LordVishnu , the aspect of divinity which sustains the #universe and takes birth as a man. #Rama , #hero of the #Ramayana , is one of Vishnu's divine #incarnations
Garuda's cousin #Jatayu is sometimes described as a #vulture , but he is no more an actual vulture than Garuda is an #eagle . Jatayu is a garuda, and the hero of this story... 🙏🏼☺️ #Namaste
🤗 would my lovely wheel tribe hop on your 🔘🔘🔘 to show me your talent? 🥇✨♥️👌🏼 I am tagging some @yogigico @yzmaiz @fake_taitai @black_swan74 @_kayyogacara @yogintje @anna_yogawheel @simplemuffin .
Did you know that the custom engraving on my wheel is “hic et nunc” Latin, literally "here and now," from demonstrative pronomial adjective of place hic "here" + nunc “now” in other words “the present moment” 🧘🏻♂️

Heart-openers are challenging yet fulfilling because they embody what yoga is. What life is. “Sthira sukha asanam” - to find grounding and stability, yet ease and stillness.
So much about life is about seeking this fine balance and finding peace in every moment and situation. Even when it is uncomfortable. Even when it feels counterintuitive. 🤲

@yogavered on Progress! ❤️ *Keep in mind — your progress is your own. Your progress might even be a step back. Progress is just a combination of patience and work ethic. 😊
Well, I do have a thing with stripes ☺️ and it looks like it’s not about to change any time soon.
But seriously, touching my head with my feet in a chin stand was not something I could ever dream of.
But I did practice it, over and over, and by filming myself I saw that slowly, I’m getting a little bit closer.. there were times I decided I’m getting there no matter what, and over did it until it was painful.
And here’s a tip- Don’t get to the painful level, try stopping at the ‘uncomfortable level’. It’s amazing how our body can cooperate with us if we just give it the chance.

How I learned.... aka
1. Measure arm placement by reaching for outside of elbows. Interlace fingers and palms remain open. Place crown of head down on the floor (envision where you could balance books if walking 📚😝). 2. Stand legs up and walk feet in (coming off heels), working to stack hips over shoulders. Elbows magnetized toward one another.
3. Roll as high as you can in the toes (find almost weightlessness in feet) and lift knee into chest. Core engages.
4. Try pressing so far forward that maybe you hover the toe and take micro jumps lifting extended foot.
5. Press forearms firmly down to protect neck (head should almost be weightless). Slowly lift other foot bringing both thighs to the chest.
6. Shift center as hips stack over shoulders. Thighs raise up from chest. Pause. Take a few breaths. Check in with your neck and elbows for alignment. If stable, slowly straighten legs up to ceiling. When starting out try staying for 10-15 breaths and exit the same way you came in (one leg at a time). *MAGIC TICKET* Those hips over the shoulders made a HUGE difference for me! It creates a feeling of very light toes that are much easier to lift. Try walking your feet as CLOSE in as you can and THEN roll high onto the toes before lifting the first leg. •
Let me know how it goes and if I can help in anyway! 💕 Love love, Chels

Wanna do me a favor? 🤗 If you enjoy my yoga tutorials, tag two friend and support my mission in healing bodies NATURALLY through mindful movement, stretching and meditation. I would be so grateful!! 🙏🏼👯♀️😁 Today’s @getstretchy pose is Plow Pose, or Halasana. This stretches your posterior chain, all the way from your neck to your toes!! 👣 And it also increases circulation, suppleness, and vitality! It also has a very calming and restorative effect on the sympathetic nervous system, so it’s my favorite pose before heading into savasana 🙏🏽 There are various ways to position the arms, like pressing palms flat into the floor, and also clasping hands. I’m sure there are even more variations, so this is just one example of how to support the pose. It’s important to create length in the neck and keep your gaze forward so that you don’t strain your neck.
Hold this pose for 10 cycles of breath, then slowly bend your knees and roll the spine down until the whole back side of your body rests on the floor.
