Have I ever talked about my “Get Your Shit Together” theory? When I’m feeling super overwhelmed or unmotivated or I feel like I’m not getting anything done—-I pick a couple of things from THE BOTTOM of my mental to do list. You know the things, they carry over day to day (or week to week 😬). Things like making your OB-GYN appt, cleaning a junk drawer-but they’re things that when you think of them—you feel something: annoyed, reminded, or generally bad. .
Once I do those things, I feel so good. Like I’ve accomplished wayyyyy more than I really did. And you don’t open the junk drawer and get annoyed, you’ll feel happy! You’ll feel like YOU HAVE YOUR SHIT TOGETHER! 😂
So here’s the bottom of my list that I’m going to get done: change the light bulbs that are out in the house (I have like 7 out 😳😂), paint my toenails and clean out my closet, replacing my warm/cold clothes!

Healthy isn’t a destination. A quick fix. Or something you cross off a list. .
Healthy is showing respect to your body through quality food and exercise. But also through rest and self-care. It’s going out for drinks, if that’s what you want. It’s ordering your own dessert if you don’t want to share... (sorry hunny, that lemon bar last night was all mine 🤭🍋🍰)......
AND STILL waking up the next morning LOVING the body you are building. .
Everyone always wants to know “✨the secret✨” to getting results. Well here’s mine:
💕Eat clean most of the time (I discuss my personal formula for this in my groups!!) 💕Treat yourself when you want it... but don’t go overboard, because we all know that DOESN'T feel good. 💕Work on your mind just as much, if not more than your body. 💕Get moving (I’m a big fan of less is more in this category!!). 💕Don’t forget water. Lots and lots of water. No matter what. 💕And keep showing up. 🙌🏼 There you have it 🙌🏼 And if you want to actually work WITH ME ... and do my groups with me... well I’m just a message away. I am not following a Banting diet, but I really enjoy a lot of the products on offer by @bantingblvd and fit them into my meals. I especially love their treat range as they contain no sugar.
I tried out their almond and seed loaf mix this past weekend, and gave it a bit of my own twist by adding pumpkin and dates - it turned out amazing! Moist, delicious and so easy to bake!
You could follow the recipe on the back of their packaging, or you could make my version. Recipe below.
1 x almond and seed loaf premix.
1/2 x teaspoon cinnamon.
1/2 x teaspoon ginger.
1 x teaspoon salt.
250g x steamed mashed pumpkin.
About 12 x chopped rehydrated (soaked) dates.
6 x eggs.
Whisk together the eggs and cream. Add the premix and stir throughly. Add the pumpkin, dates, spices and salt. Mix and leave to stand for 5minutes. Add the milk and stir again. Pour into a lined loaf tin and place in the oven at 180 degrees for an hour or until cooked through. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
Enjoy as a sweet or savoury base! And feel free to toast a slice or two as well. The only thing I might do differently next time I bake this will be to add more dates - man they taste good! 🍴

This year was traumatizing in too many ways but I could not be more thankful for people who love me to have been there for me, listen to me, cry with me, pray with me, give me space but keep sending sweet messages even though may not reply, people who are more patient and better friends than I could ever deserve. People who where there when I was crippled by fear of the closest person in my life passing away. I’ve seen God’s love reflected more this year than I ever have. And I can’t express how grateful I am for healing. And that I’m finally starting to feel like myself again without having to hold my breath because the next wave is about to hit. I’m thankful for deep belly breaths and deep stretches to release the tension. And I’m thankful for tears of relief.

When you think of working out what type of workouts do you gravitate towards? Do you like to lift, are you a cardio person, is HIIT your style or do you like to take the ZEN route and do YOGA?
There are all types of workouts out there, from cardio to HIIT style to more intense workouts to a more calming ZEN workout. What I come to find out is it’s all about finding the one that works for you, your lifestyle and your personality. When you find the one that fits you are more apt to get in your workouts, work them into your daily routines and everything else will align.
I have been trying new workouts lately to see what works best for me and I come to find out its about balance, about finding what fits into your lifestyle, discovering and re-discovering who you are and what your passionate about that ultimately matters. .
There’s no magic answer for the perfect workout, it’s going to be trial and error, exploring new ideas, trying new programs, and implanting the ones that work BEST for you. Take it one workout at a time, trust the process and you will find one that works.
This journey is about self-discovery, self-worth, self-love and trying new things and aligning with the ones that work. There’s no more precious moment in life when you find what works, implement those workouts into your daily routine and in the end your body mind and soul align in perfect harmony.
