This ONE, my beautiful usually lively Sunny boy has been poorly sick with an ear infection in the last 24 hrs. It’s been a day of surrender but how sweet has it been ❤️.... after a shower tonight he fell asleep in his towel in my arms, skin skin, heart to heart. I am his everything for a limited time. From me he learns how to be in this world. Your mama is always your first teacher. I’ve had some major realisations today. When we push to be seperate, be selfish, we miss out on the beauty of all that is joined. Man was not meant to be alone. Spiritual practice is in truth, NOT found in a super cool yoga asana studio, but as a matter of fact at home. Where we reside. In our relationships. This is one of two spiritual paths. Renounce all and leave it all behind and seek ultimate enlightenment or travel the relationship road. In my case be a wifey & a mama. Then balance that with personal aspiration effectively, humbly. Our greatest teachers are those we choose to BE with. Being a mother is the most anxiety provoking role I've ever had... I mean... I've always had anxiety, but it takes that word to a whole new (and very scary) level... 🙄 // Before I found yoga, I just allowed my anxiety to consume me and had no real strategies for dealing with it.... it really did save me in so many ways and I've only realised how much since starting back this week.
The past 4 months have been some of the hardest of my existence and I'm kicking myself that's its taken this long for me to roll out my mat, to meditate, to connect with my body again when I could've really used it a few months ago! I'm so glad I started up with my FlexiFit eBook again I cant even tell you... I feel like a new woman. I'm more patient, more calm and more present with my little boy each day. I feel incredible. We all have our own versions of a busy, chaotic life, but there must always be time to stop, reset and breathe into this life not just drag our feet and accept what is ♡ Much love + hopefully see you on the mat! xx

Every time I try to relax I literally start recalling all the stupid things I said and did 10-15 years ago. Or I remember that in 1 hour I have to pick the kids up from school. And then there’s the washing that needs to be done. And the dishes and vacuuming and toilet cleaning. And those bills to be paid. Oh and the message I need to respond to. Better start thinking about what to make for dinner too. Oh and how can I make more money? Was I a good Mum today? Is my cat ok? Should go pat the cat. Why is my armpit itchy? Google it. Probably have cancer. Plan funeral. Fret about the afterlife. Look at the time and realise I’ve wasted and hour worrying about whether I want to be cremeted or buried after itchy armpit death when I could’ve been relaxing and giving zero fucks before picking up the kids who will be hungry and tired and yelling at me about farts and how unfair it is that Emma from room 7 got a new beanie boo and I’m the worst mum in the world because I arrived early at the school gate 😬 ::
And that my friends is why I practice yoga. To still the mind of all the worry and fretting. To remind myself that there is more to life than bills and the mistakes I made in the past. ::
Some people can let go without the help of yoga or breathing into brown paper bags, but for us perfectionists, empaths and over thinkers we need the YOGA. We need the time alone. We need COPIOUS amounts of time alone in nature. And tea, lots and lots of tea. We need to be around people who smile a lot and don’t make sudden loud noises (Mums and dads this is totally unavoidable sorry 🤭) and we need little cave spaces like warm beds, rooms with black out curtains and corners of cafes that are hidden.
Do the yoga. Do the mediation. Do the deep breathing. Forget about the time you streaked down the main street of Auckland in front of hundreds of people (🙈) and RELAX. Seriously, none of it matters. Just your breath and being settled in your soul matters. ::

ON GUARD RICE EXPERIMENT
20 days later
Ok everyone, I’m sure after 20 days you are all dying to know the results of the experiment.
On day one of the experiment I made a mix of on Guard and water in a spray bottle and sprayed it on the rice. I also sprayed a few sprays of On Guard hand sanitizing mist as well.
On the other rice I applied absolutely nothing.
20 days later this is the result.
The results are amazing. You can obviously see a huge difference between the Rice’s.
The second rice had major discolouration, clumping and large pockets of black mould.
With the first rice there is a slight discolouration but not much at all. To the naked eye without much investigation you probably wouldn’t think it was old at all.
I must admit this experiment was tricky due to the fact it has been so cold. Not the best conditions for growing mound. I will definitely re do this experiment when summer comes along to watch the mould in action as it grows fast.
