Day 2 of #writeitoutyogis is “What is something that scares you and why?” Having anxiety a lot of things “scare” me. But my biggest fear is not being a good enough mother for my daughter. I became a mother so young, I was a child myself. I’ve been growing with her, and as I get older sometimes I get sad about things I used to do. I have not always been the best mother. When I first had her it was hard to hold her. I was so exhausted from working all night waitressing and taking care of her all day. I had PPD and I never thought I could bond with her. I chose to go to nursing school by the time she was 1 and missed most of her 2nd year of life, away caring for someone else’s family. By the time she was 3 I was a nurse, working nights again not getting home until 7am. Too tired to do much else then watch movies on the couch with her while I dozed. I thought those things were good and to some they might be. But to me it wasn’t. I want to spend time with my daughter, I want her to be able to know me and know I’ll always be there if she needs. I feared becoming my parents, and I was working myself into them. Putting myself in the exact box my family wanted me to be in. They were so “proud” of me. But my daughter, she cried every night I went to work begging me to stay home with her to say goodnight. She would ask my husband if I would come home at all in the morning. Beg me all day to take her outside, let’s play mommy, mommy why won’t you talk with me? “Mommy is too tired baby” became my new motto. I did not choose to have my daughter and raise her to tell her everyday I was “too tired” for her. She is my whole world and I needed her to know that. To this day it is still my biggest fear AND my biggest driving force. I want my daughter to be proud of me and the things that I have accomplished, but I will not compromise being a mother and always being there when she needs me. She follows my every move, speaks and acts just like me. I want to have a positive relationship with her unlike the one I have and had with my parents. We are creatures of expansion and change. It’s amazing the way we can feel and believe one thing one day, and the entire opposite the next. This is because we have all things inside us and we can be opened up to new awarenesses at any time that will force growth upon us and have us leave old beliefs behind. Or there’s the idea that healing isn’t linear and we can heal one day and be plunged right back into our pain the next. Our beliefs are constantly evolving and changing. I wrote about my beliefs changing last week and this week an awareness has struck me and I have found phenomenal value in places where I previously didn’t. This constant growing and changing is such a gift and I feel almost unsettled when I am settled. As though too much consistency in thought and mood will inhibit the experiences that bring about great learning and spiritual awareness for me. There is so much to discover and explore within the depths of the human experience and I feel such a craving to learn as much as possible. 🧡💫 ___________________________________________________________

YOGA in BALI! Since my horse accident I haven’t been able to do any activity. I recently got cleared to do some light activity before starting physical therapy. I was a little apprehensive about doing #yoga but I have no regrets. I definitely took note that I’ve lost some flexibility and core strength (a given since I haven’t done anything in 2 months) but it’s only a matter of time before I bounce right back. I was really pleased to enjoy this yoga session with my mom as we watch the sunrise here in Bali. What caring for the planet means to me: I used to not be very conscious about how my actions affected the environment but being married to @dsilstudios has changed that for the better. We compost (recycle organic material) as much as we can and use that compost to grow our garden. We recycle plastics and cardboard/paper too. So our recycling pile is usually bigger than our actual trash. 🙌🏽
In general, caring for the planet means to me preserving its beauty by reducing waste. 💛 .

“To me, life is about forever learning and applying. It never ends.It’s knowing that you never were, are not, and never will be in your life perfect and complete as a person. And in that space of clarity, having the freedom and empowerment to take your life where you want it.

Ego is the toughest obstacle keeping me from this. Being consumed by irrational fears and saying, “No I don’t like this because it scares me so I need to protect myself.” Those irrational fears are the toughest challenge to growth and learning for me.
What helps me deal with ego is seeing where the next big breakthrough is in that particular part of my life and really imagining myself, digging deep, and feeling those emotions once I get to that step. By doing that, I REALLY truly feel and recognize the true significance of that step and that helps me push through that ego barrier. El 21 de septiembre, es conocido como #equinoccio de #primavera , debido a que el día dura exactamente lo mismo que la noche, es una fecha en la que es posible llegar a una conexión profunda con las fuerzas de la naturaleza.
Ya que el equinoccio de primavera resuelve la dualidad luz-oscuridad con la victoria de la luz, no es de extrañar que sea un día ritual y sagrado en todo el mundo.
Incluso en la práctica del yoga, el equinoccio es un día al que está dedicada una de las secuencias más importantes, llamada “saludo al Sol” o #Surya#Namaskar : una forma de honrar a la luz que nos ilumina, así como a nuestra propia luz interior, y que se practica desde hace más de 2 mil años.
Cuando se acercan nuevos ciclos o cambios de estación, como el equinoccio de primavera y el solsticio de invierno, se acostumbra hacer 108 saludos al Sol para sembrar decretos energéticos. Si sos principiante, no te preocupes por hacer tantos, simplemente descubri la secuencia, fijá tu intención y hacé los que sean buenos para vos.
Este día es además un momento donde, literalmente, podemos festejar el reverdecer de la naturaleza.

I'm highly sensitive, I over think every little thing, I'm honest, hardworking, independent, no kids — yet, college grad, I like to save money and I will tell you to do the same, I've lived alone since the age of 18 but I'm considering having a roommate, my credit score is now 783, I hate cooking and laundry but I love to clean, I love dancing, I love to meditate, I eat ice cream in winter, I like giving tons of kisses and hug for a long time, I love romantic movies and hate scary ones, anxiety is a big part of me, — "and let's not even talk about depression". I love to write but I'm bad at spelling, I get shy at times but I can make you laugh, I can do makeup and put your eyebrows on fleek, I love to be EXTRA, I can defend myself in sign language, my heart has been broken a few times but I still believe in the power of love, I learned how to do my own taxes, I take long showers and my arms get super tired when I wash my hair, I've never dyed my hair before but I love to cut it, I'm 26, I want to go to Amalfi Coast with my future husband, and honeymoon in Bora Bora. I want 5 kids but I think I can settle with 3. I'm bad at texting back, I'm moody, I'm prideful but I’m loving, I'm Dominican and super dramatic. I push people away but in reality, I want them close to me, I disappear on people without a warning, "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran is my favorite song, I love tomato soup, bread, and pickles. I spend all day debating to post this but I’m glad I did. My favorite color is purple but I die for pink. I can sense people's energy and if it doesn't match mine I will cut you off instantly, I'm a Scorpio, I don't look for my friends as I should, when I’m mad my eyes get watery and I care way too much. -
