🌿🍂 It’s day THREE of #FallForVata 🌿🍂 and #pigeonpose ⠀
I want to share following with you from the Yoga Journal which states, that “you can⠀
create a customized yoga sequence, based on Ayurveda, to keep your mind and body healthy and balanced.”⠀
Also it says:⠀
“Yoga and Ayurveda are two paths intertwined in such a close relationship that it is hard to imagine traveling down one of these paths without knowledge of the other. Ayurveda, which means "knowledge of life," is the ancient art and science of keeping the body and mind balanced and healthy. Yoga is the ancient art and science of preparing the body and mind for the eventual liberation and enlightenment of the soul.⠀
Like hatha yoga, Ayurveda teaches how to keep the physical body healthy, and how this health relates to our spiritual journey. Both yoga and Ayurveda spring from the ancient Sanskrit texts called the Vedas. According to Vedic scholar David Frawley, "Yoga is the practical side of the Vedic teachings, while Ayurveda is the healing side." In practice, both paths overlap.⠀
In fact, Ayurveda and yoga are so closely related that some people argue that Patanjali, the first codifier of yoga, and Caraka, the first codifier of Ayurveda, may have in fact been one and the same person. Philosophically, both yoga and Ayurveda are rooted in Samkhya, one of six schools of classical Indian thought.” ⠀
#dangcatscrazy | #destruction
I've been disconnected from actual news media since I shut myself in to work on my thesis, and I can't explain to you how incredibly sad I am for the people who are lost in the fire. I'm crying bc there's nothing anyone can do to change fate, and that is absolutely terrifying. Stepping outside immediately makes it hard for me to breathe, and I am over 200 miles away from the danger. All we can do is be grateful for what we have bc there's always going to be terror and destruction in the world.
For someone as sensitive to emotional energy as I am, it's really difficult to not feel overwhelmed by the external sadness happening around us. I just hope that California can quickly recover from all of this madness. #globalwarmingisreal
@bestyoga post today! by @aubrymarie
I’m currently working on more control (a consistent roll) while in full lotus. Note the difference between kneeling and seated. Endless options, options, options. Growth. And for that I’ll love this yoga practice forever.
Follow @bestyoga for daily yoga tips and inspiration!
It take courage, it takes strength to chose you over + over again. To show up for yourself + your desires. To fully receive self love. It’s not what we have been conditioned to do, to believe. You are breaking patterns, belief systems, treading new waters + that is what the world requires right now. That is what the world requires from all of us. Be brave, be courageous. Love your best life.
Freely give to others and you will receive more than you could possibly comprehend.
For it is in giving that we find the the beauty of genuine connection, healing, and love.
A special bond is created between you and others when you respond to their request for help. You create a safe environment for others to lean on people in times of need. And in turn, you create a safe community for yourself to reach out when you’re struggling.
Some of my deepest and most cherished relationships have come from being of service - to them, for them, with them. These are also the relationships that have taught me the most about who I am as a person and the person who I want to become.
If you have people like this in your life tag them and let them know you have received an abundance from helping them.
Mine are posted in the comments!
Welcome to day one of #ThankfulForYin ! Our day one posture is any hip opening stretch 💙 I decided to go with #firelogpose 🔥
Gentle strengthening and stretching exercises can make an amazing difference to those experiencing pain or discomfort around the hips. Yin yoga can be great for relieving tight hips and for releasing problematic tension that may potentially impinge the sciatic nerve.
I’ve been really drawn to yin yoga lately. Anyone else love it? Don’t care for it? I’d love to hear your thoughts ❤️ Thanks so much to everyone who is joining in on this one! Be sure to check in with my beautiful co-hosts for more inspo and insight. Much love, friends!

to make space,
to collect your thoughts,
to face the next moment,
to choose you.
find that breath & stick with it. .
whenever I am feeling overwhelmed or when my life seems like it is always on a constant state of green light go,
I always try to remember to come back to my breath, and come back to me,
it’s way easier said than done,
but whenever you are feeling this way, choose to focus on you, your breath and take it one step at a time. .
this week has me running all over the place from job to job and city to city,
so trying to find those moments for me in between the busy times is necessary,
also because I’m trying to kick this nasty cold that I’ve had since Friday 😷👎🏼
b u t
I won’t let it stop me from all the things I need to do this week, like I said before,
I just need to take it one breath, one moment and one step at a time ✨
happy Monday loves, xo
