Big thanks to @mcgcoaching and @trainingthinktank for letting me come out and talk some #movement related topics on how it applies to assessment/application for teaching athletes how to control their bodies as well as chronic pain patients.
1/2 aubergine (sliced)
1/4 courgette (sliced)
Butternut squash (cubed, I used 1/2 cup of cubes)
4-7 button mushrooms (chopped)
1 handful runner beans (chopped)
Sweet chilli sauce
1. preheat oven to 200°C (180 fan)
2. Drizzle the baking tray with oil
3. Place the veggies in sections on the baking tray
4. Drizzle with a dash more oil, a dash of chilli sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds
5. Place in oven for 24-27 minutes (less time = veggies are more juicy and more time = more crispy)
6. Season and serve
How comfortable do you feel expressing your own emotions?
I grew up in what I like to call an emotionally repressed society. People like to gossip, complain and talk about anything that might be wrong in their lives, or what’s even more common, emphasize how terrible life in my homeland can be. Those people go out and meet others simply to get a picture full of smiles for social media, and generally compete to create the image of a perfect life.
Amongst it all, there is no “this is how I feel today”, and even worse, there’s no telling the people our lives how much they mean to us. My family isn’t big on expressing emotions, but over time I’ve come to discover thay many of my friends back home rarely ever say “I love you” to their siblings or their parents. And telling my friends how much I care about them… that’s just plain weird, where I come from.
After I moved to Sweden, I’ve learned about the beauty and importance of being able to express how I feel. Here, it’s completely normal to say “hey, I like you, let’s hang out again”, or “I’m so happy met you”. One of my friends here often tells me “you are so important” and it gives me so much comfort, feelings of love and security that I hadn’t ever felt with some friends back home even after years of knowing them. I’m beating my head trying to remember ever saying or hearing something like that from a new friend.
What prompted these thoughts today was that I woke up and I remembered I’ll get to see one of my friends soon and it made me happy. I wanted to send her a message, but before I did I thought to myself, wait, this is weird. And then I paused. I realized that for the longest of times even though I’ve wanted to express such things, I haven’t felt comfortable doing it. And over time, it’s become a habit to swallow such words. But I am finally in a place where I’ve grown out of that discomfort, because I know that being vulnerable and showing my emotions is something I want to do for myself, not for anyone else.
5. Padma Mudra
Place both hands in front of chest, with base of hands, outer edge of thumbs and little fingers touch each other. Gently spread the index, middle and ring fingers.
You can do this Mudra when you feel lonely, drained out, misunderstood or exploited.
🔹This Mudra helps to calm mind and soul.
🔹Helps to activate chakra at heart, thus increases the loving and compassion attitude towards others.
Lotus rises from unclean water to blossom as a pure contaminated flower. In spite of being in water Lotus leaf is never wet. Dharma comes from the fact that despite lotus growing in muddy waters, it still restores such a beauty.
It also teaches us to perform actions without getting attached to the outcome of action performed and also not to bother about the external factors that might influence the action.
You can practice this Mudra during meditation or while OM chanting. Else you can also hold the Mudra with eyes closed for few minutes anytime in a day. Also you can perform this Mudra in Tadasana or any seated pose.
Always while performing Mudra be aware of fingers, if it’s not done correctly benefits can’t be expected.
🔶Next post will be about Vayu Mudra. Keep watching this space😊.
Students and lovely yogis !
I’ll be teaching my last classes at @omyoga_casa_kech and @yoga_blanca until the end of the month, before I meet you again in Spring time !
Self-practice and rest are much needed for these last two months of my pregnancy, and Christmas is the perfect time for self-care and family.
Need to focus on that !
So join me on my schedules to enjoy the time together before this little break ! You’ll be all so much missed !!! And please, keep on practicing during winter time. Your immune system needs it, and so does your mental !
Keep sweating, keep breathing, keep taking care of you. Your health is the most precious thing, so don’t forget to kick your little 🍑when you feel down or lazy.
These tiny “spaces” out of time are priceless. You know it better than anyone else !
Will see you again soon on the mats :) Massive love 🚀
POSES OF THE WEEK: Cat-Cow (la🐄 y el 🐱) ✨ If you’ve ever taken a class with me you know I almost always include these two poses in my sequences. The reason? Inhaling while opening the front of the body stretches the abdomen and opens up the chest and exhaling while rounding up contracts the visceral organs and stretches the back body. It’s a great combo to do each morning to get that system up and running! ✨ Remember to always place your wrists under your shoulders and your knees under your hips. It’s table pose in movement! 🧘♀️ 🧘♂️ .
after a looooong break of teaching yoga i was teaching two morning classes at the blissful lovemaking tantra retreat of my beloved friend alexa.
when she asked me just before falling asleep if i wanted to teach tomorrow’s morning yoga i felt some excitement in my body. but also doubt and fear.
before that teaching, i was teaching for 1,5 years in germany with 3-6 regular classes a week.
but when i started my travel i just needed a break. coming back to myself. recalibrating what it is that i want to do with my life.
one main reason why i also needed a break of teaching yoga is, cause i’ve severely injured my hip by overchallenging my body. and up to today i struggle with that hip pain. when i don’t do any sport it’s fine. when i go back to yoga, it starts again. up to a point that every step that i take becomes super painful and starts spreading out in my whole body. so...do i fully stand behind the yoga style i used to teach? - NO. 😕
what is the message of that hip injury? what does it try to tell me?
well it was super clear for me -> SLOW DOWN. turn inwards! stop that focus on the physical body! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
so i took a break. a break that became veeeery long. looking for a new style that inspires me and gives me as much power and peace as jivamukti yoga.
but i haven’t really found it yet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
AAAND! fears were kicking in.
- i probably forgot it all - - i’m not good enough anymore - - i can’t teach in english - - i will fail - - i’ll mess up and students will be disappointed -
ahhhhh! all that well known mind chatter. being totally supported by excuses of outer circumstances (hip / i need a break / it’s too complicated in australia / it’s not bringing enough money / blablabla )
but fact is...
i haven’t forgotten anything!✨
i loved teaching again!✨
it all flew naturally✨
the feedback was great and totally touching💛
english wasn’t a challenge at all ✨
i felt my inner peace and center as strong as when i give bodywork✨
i’m the designer of the class! so it becomes just as physical or spiritual as I decide!✨
I AM THE CREATOR ✨😉✨

After a weekend full of Bhakti, teaching philosophy, stories, lifestyle, and Kirtan and mantra, I’m super charged up and inspired.
Kirtan has been such a powerful tool in helping me go inward while being externally stimulated or even distracted.
There’s a metaphor in there about what I observe in myself.😉
Focus on you, while being aware and in flow with the collective whole as well. And don’t let shit trip you up!
It’s not called Jedi mind tricks for no reason.😅
This was the trickiest practice I’ve add in a long time because I had 3 different voices going at the same time😂 you can see my face when I have to pull myself in and center. -
You want to see how well you can stay centered?
Don’t surround yourself with those that merely please you.
Find the irritation or distraction and lean in with gratitude.💖
Oh, it helps to have a crew to accelerate you growth with too... more on that later.

Hamburg shall we have Kirtan in 2 weeks?
