Getting cozy in #goddesspose for Day 3 of the #HyggeYogi Challenge 💫
Do you have any Hygge practices before you step onto your mat? Once you get off? 🙏
Lighting incense before stepping onto my mat is one of my favorite hygge moments before I flowing. The smell takes me back to all of my most powerful classes. The ones where I balled my eyes out uncontrollably. The ones where I learned something new! The class that I achieved a new pose & set myself new goals.
The smell is comforting.💕 Once I get off the mat, a warm, soap shower 🛁 Anyone else out there use Castile Soap? Well if you do, you know that squeaky clean fresh pepperminty feeling I'm talking about 😜
Hygge (“hue-gah”) is a Danish word which means entering the present moment to enjoy the simple pleasures and small things in life while filling your heart with warmth, nourishment, and pleasant togetherness - whether in the presence of yourself or with others.
Maybe you enjoy being fireside, lighting candles, opening a bottle of wine with friends, the smell of coffee in the morning, or wearing your favorite sweater. In this challenge, we will explore hygge to bring coziness, comfortability, and charming moments of everyday.
Each day, choose a new pose from the list below and reflect on hygge in your life:
•Legs up on a wall

It’s the last day of #InvertForJoy 🤸🏽♀️ like how are we already done with this challenge?! Today’s variation is yogis choice (of a press) but press is def not in my practice, so I chose this handstand variation in my fave @aloyoga outfit that gives me allll the joy ☺️ Yay for completing another #yogachallenge 🙌🏽 & this one was definitely one of my faves I’ve done so far! So challenging, yet rewarding 🤗
My new focus, well, not really new, it has came to my attention for sometime. That is Strengthen the nondominant side of the body. After years and years of practice I starts to appreciate more of cultivating a better balance on both sides, particularly my left so called “weak side”. Just like this video I shared here, I can see my right side of body has more power and control than the left. I guess most of us are kind of similar case, which we may know but not take it seriously enough to apply some actions. The point is not seeking for a perfect balance but rather to raise the awareness what’s going on inside our body and mind. My left side has been treated like ugly sister and rarely gets asked to do a lot of cool things. So here I am without judgement and expectations, just focus on strengthen my non dominant side. My mantra of the day “ Left is More” 😜#yogachallenge#yogagirl#yogiwei#yogaselfpractice#yogaeverydamnday#yogainspiration#yogateachertraining#yogaworkshops#rayoga#rayogafamily#handstandpractice
Day 5 of #namasleightheholiday#yogachallenge
Find a pose you are #relaxed in.
I have to say dropping into #malasana#goddesspose is nothing but a giant exhale of calming energy for me. Sam also is calming energy for me💕🐾💕 we loves being a little naughty.. just a little. Somehow we still always make the nice list. #definenaughty#baddhakonasana too.

Confession: I’ve lost flexibility
The Reality: I’ve never been happier
👉🏼 When I was first starting my Instagram page in 2014 I saw a yogi I truly looked up to (and still do!) post a photo of this variation of bow pose (in my before photo) on her page all the time. She had tons of followers, a beautiful page and I aspired to be just like her. Without any proper training or warm up I got on my ottoman in my Delray Beach condo and attempted it. It hurt like a b*tch, but I didn’t care because I got a great video of me doing it and could screen shot the peak position to post on my page. Looking back I’m so embarrassed for myself: why would I hurt my body physically to get a photo for Instagram and who was I trying so hard to impress?!❣️
Over the years I continued to practice this pose. The truth: it never felt good for me, I pulled my back once, and I felt like I was constantly having to hype myself up before going into the pose.
The reality of my life now is I only want to do poses (or anything really) that feels GOOD and that make sense for my body. Some of the poses I practice (and feel good for me) are more advanced and some days I really just lay on the ground in savasana. Either way: I don’t see this as a regression in progress but as the most progress I’ve made as a person and human being in my whole life. I’m proud of the person on the right and promise to always showcase the true version of myself. I do want to work towards that full variation of bow pose again, but in the right way and I can’t wait to share that journey with you!! 💙 If I’m being totally honest, this was nerve wrackingbeing totally honest, this was nerve wracking to share, I’d love to hear your feedback on this post in the comments below and chat with you!! Magic hour Playtime ✨
Between 3rd grade multiplication homework and laundry, before I sneak off for some @meghancurrieyoga before dinner!
My goal is to take at least one hour of online yoga a day to help get me thru this hurricane/winter funk!! Yes I still teach 2 days a week but I love being a student. It has amazing affects on my mood and my sleep cycle.
I got some new shoes and couldn't resist little play time!
#MyMindMyYoga day 3 - #bakasana or crow pose variation. Crow pose has always been such a struggle and I've been working on a low crow for a few years now. The difficulty with this balance is finding that sweet spot between not trusting myself enough and keeping my weight too far back and flinging myself straight into a epic faceplant.
Now the shoes 😙 8 inch heels filled with glitter need I say more 🤣. One thing that always keeps me balanced is dancing. I've recently started a burlesque-esque dance class and can't wait to break in these new heels ! Hopefully I'll still have both ankles in tact 😉 • • • • •
