Catching up on the #12daysofwae#yogachallenge ... Day 9 was warrior 3 with hands at heart center. Check. Day 10 was @thewinesampler with my good friend @arongoyoga for supported warrior 3 with arms extended in front. Check.
Today is a partner warrior variation. @w_deets_opst is 2 weeks post-op for his back, so we are calling this #healingwarriors — exactly why I am so happy to participate in this challenge to help bring awareness to the amazing work @warriorsatease is doing in military communities.
And because I am a ding dong and just looked at @theyogagypsea for my next posture since she is leading the challenge, I didn’t realize her triangle post wasn’t for this event. I did it all the same and I love how my body shows that #eachsideis different.

When the mind is absolutely still, it becomes translucent. Then the ecstatic state, also known as samadhi can occur🧘♀️ and to reach this state of absolute stillness, we follow the eight limbed path of social moral code, personal observances, breathwork, physical practice , sensory internalization, concentration and deep absorption. The sage Patanjali in his yogic texts highlights the coinciding of subject, object and the process of the experience itself. Today we ask you to tell us what your favorite winter activity is?! 🏂⛷⛸🛷☺️
I love moving in the winter to keep me warm, so the physical activities of winter bring me such joy! I honestly love it all minus the cold lol. That’s why I keep moving! I started skiing when I was a little girl. The thing I love about skiing is the fact that you are gliding through nature! I love a good snowball fight, ice skating, snow tubing/sledding, snow angels, plus so much more! Once I was having a blast on a snowmobile, until it flipped 🙈 haha. I also tried snowboarding, it is so different than skiing! Advice: Wear thick gloves and good pants if it’s your first time 😂.

Suffering happens to all of us. It is the experience that burdens the mind, aches the heart, chokes the throat, wrenches the gut, and weighs us down. We all know it. .
We hide ourselves from others view, fearful of being seen as weak or in any light that contrasts with the darkness we feel. We avoid talking about suffering in fear of bringing others down to the energetic level we may be dealing with. .
In yoga we are always seeking positivity, “good vibes”, letting go of the negative etc., but what we have forgotten to discuss is the only way to enlightenment is through suffering —
"I teach suffering, its origin, cessation and path. That's all I teach" - Buddha .
The Four Noble Truths is declared to be the path that Buddha shares as the way to liberation from suffering:
1. The truth of suffering (Dukkha)
2. The truth of the origin of suffering (Samudāya)
3. The truth of the cessation of suffering (Nirodha)
4. The truth of the path to the cessation of suffering (Magga)
To find the path that leads us to the highest versions of ourselves, we must first experience the versions of ourselves. Share. Feel. Break. Fall. Cry. Be human and trust that it is all part of your journey. .

Bit annoying/slightly embarrassing that they can do the pose better than me 😖😖😂
This pose is a real nemesis of mine, exposing my naturally tight hips. But things improve in their own sweet time, and teach you lots along the way. Maybe in another 10 years time I will have some beautifully stacked firelogs... or maybe I won't, but I will keep trying, with a faithful heart, any-old-way🔥
