I've been experiencing some big changes in my life (they're always big and I guess big is relative) and have plenty of pent up negative emotions. Hip opening poses such as compass pose help to release the energy as hips are your emotional centre. Granted, it might not be a miracle solution, but I sit here grasping my leg open to the sky in hopes that tomorrow will be a better day.. The best part about practice is that you'll definitely feel better after because you've set out to do something for yourself, and sometimes that's your win for the day!

It’s important to be able to spend time in stillness. I’m trying to be more mindful of my need to constantly move, always thinking and rushing onto the next thing, the next pose. My focus recently has been to try and learn to sit in certain poses and observe how they feel, observe my own need to move, need to fidget or wiggle. I find that even when I find stillness in my body I move my eyes, even if they are closed, they are still moving. Seems like such a simple task, being still and observing yet somehow it is one of the most difficult things for me. How do you find stillness? #stillness#livingroomyoga#yoga
Who are you getting strong and flexible for? Why do you step on your mat? If you could dedicate your practice to anyone who would it be? ... I’m getting strong and flexible for MYSELF. It’s how I show myself and my body love, dedicating time to being healthy, strong and mindful, it’s how I practice self-love. You can dedicate your practice to anyone, and day to day that dedication can change, but by asking yourself those questions before your practice it might help you find more love, awareness and devotion during your practice. #livingroomyoga#itsallaboutthelove
