When I was breaking yearling and weanling racehorses, it took three-months to turn the wild babies into civilized horses. Beautifully groomed and ready for auction. . . Every day leading up to Christmas I will share a small part of a larger painting. It’s up to you to guess what it is! #zippityyourart#zippityyourworld
Most of my work with Sally is made through my own thinking and philosophy about horses. I’ve read tons of books, been going to two different schools for horse riding and riding different trainers from both disciplines. When people ask me what I do, I find it very hard to answer. I have been jumping, competed in dressage, eventing, barrelrace, reining, and others. I love to work with Sally in roundpends and I love to drive her. I simply don’t know what I’ve want to be called since I do everything. I want Sally to be a kick-ass barrelracer, and I want Sally to jump and event with me in a couple of years 💕. It’s really beautiful to see the good in all disciplines. I guess Sally and I could literally be crowned allrounders since we do everything, and we love every second with it☯️.
*deworming & arch pulls back*
When I pulled archie out of his pen I noticed he was a tab bit on edge. Which I found to be odd because he’s never been a nervous horse to begin with. Could he that it was getting dark, I’m not sure. Regardless something spooked him and he pulled back on the trailer. If you notice I decided to step back and let him figure it out on his own. He quickly realized he wasn’t going anywhere and he stopped fighting. The reason I didn’t jump forward and try and release him was because that would mean putting myself in danger. I love archie will all my heart but my safety comes first.•
The rest of the video i try to comfort him and then I continue to deworm him. He takes it like a champ every time so I wasn’t surprised.•
**please ignore me chewing on my lips, I do that when I get nervous**•
Have you ever experienced a horse pulling back?? How did it end?
Another day of thoroughbred babies breaking! 13 is done - with two in the process and almost ready for their winter off - 4 left to do. So fun and exciting! I just can’t wait to keep an eye out for these future champions and their future racing career 😁 #babies#yearling#thoroughbred#racehorse#breakingtime#riding
