A big Thank You to everyone who came the Flower Bar at @themillhouselander at last night! The response was amazing-we were out of flowers in about an hour! I wish I took more photos of the lovely bouquets that were made - it was so heart-warming to meet more flower lovers and see flowers from our garden fill your vases. Will we do it again? Absolutely! We can also do flower bars for baby showers, bridal showers, or just about any party that would be fun with flowers!
Meet and play with some heirloom chrysanthemums and pretty much all the flowers blooming in the garden at our first FLOWER BAR, this Wednesday (9/5), from 5-7pm at @themillhouselander. We will bring the flowers, foliage, vases, and refreshments - you bring creative energy (and your favorite vase if you like). Let’s celebrate the bounty of summer and squeeze out every last bloom to enjoy! 🌻 See you there!
Do any growers out there know what variety this is? I have been overwintering this one for 2 years now and I love it so much! About 4 ft tall and blooms before anything else.
Is this my good side? I never take the layers of a double zinnia for granted. They are a challenge for me to grow. Yeah, I know, They are supposed to be sooo EASY. Now I know they love the hoop house environment, direct seeded late May. But honestly, the dahlias are easier and more prolific for me. Do you love ‘em or hate ‘em? .
Tulle veil-defense against grasshoppers, earwigs, and all the insects that love dahlias as much as we do. Do I wrap every single stem? It depends. For bridal bouquet blooms - I take special care. But some varieties just don’t get hit as hard and those are the plants i focus on for next year. But some, like ‘Polka’ here, I fight for every bloom 💪🏼✨.
