Y'all this was a CHALLENGE. That blue did not want to go. The second picture is after a color remover and then a soap cap! (her hair was/is strong enough to handle it and was treated/conditioned accordingly with a service like this) Thankfully our goal here was a warm, natural brown that I think we can say we achieved! 😅 Colored and styled with davines. #wvstylist#shepherdstown#rootssalon @rootssalonwv #davines#colorcorrection#notstressfulatall
I wanted to share some details about this color I did on Saturday. I think it’s important for people to know what all goes into a hair service.
First time client who’s goal was to go platinum blonde. Her past hair history was that she was blonde, tried to color it red, it faded and than she was left with the before picture I have below. Now red is that awful color that fades too quick but also still lives in the hair cuticle and can’t be seen by the naked eye until you try to lift the hair. And she turned the brightest but also prettiest peach color I’ve seen lol.
What you also can’t see was the condition of her hair. Her hair was very fragile, very damaged, and couldn’t take the whole process of going platinum blonde. What I always guarantee my clients is that I will get you as blonde as your hair will possibly let me. I never damage my clients hair. I don’t say this too sound rude but I care more about your hair than your hair goals 🤣🤣 So after 4 hours of slow and steady lifting with @pulpriothair #blondeaf lightener and @olaplex I was able to get her to a nice soft, ashy, healthy blonde. Her ends have the slightest blush color to them that I think gives the cutest touch, because honestly I couldn’t even put lightener on her ends or else they’d be mush.
Being a hairdresser is not as easy as people think. Pinterest and sometimes Instagram gives people false hopes. Hair is already a dead cell it can’t heal itself after the damage is done. Be kind to your hair and find a hairdresser that will take care of it.
