Been working a lot lately so decided to take the day off. Thought I’d go to an event at the Convention Centre to visit some suppliers and maybe find some new things for the shop for Christmas. One of my vendors told me that that’s not really taking a day off. Right. Finding myself across the street from the Fairmont Pac Rim I decided to treat myself to a tasty and ridiculously overpriced poke bowl. Then without agenda I decided to walk homeward and quickly found myself going from the world of wheeler-dealers & rich tourists wearing stiletto heels to meeting a wheelchair-bound lady named Evelyn, who was having a shitty day and some mobility issues. She asked if I could push her, so off we went, six blocks through the Downtown Eastside to her home near Oppenheimer Park. Oh... really right. The latter was by far the best (and most sobering) part of my day.
This takes me back to Sherwood Elementary School. Some of my richest memories as a kid were spent peering into Solar System models. Maybe I was too young then to appreciate my place in the universe, but I made up for it with a lot of wonder and curiosity. I crave more of those days. “If you can imagine a thing, conjure it up in space then you can make it...The universe is real but you can’t see it. You have to imagine it. Then you can be realistic about reproducing it.”

Reunited and it feels SO AMAZING! Thank you so much @gloriaestefan and @emilioestefanjr for coming to see our show last night! It is because of you and your story that I’m here continuing to do what I love today, and not still working at a bank. They’ve only ever seen me perform in their show, our beautiful @onyourfeetbway, so it meant literally everything to me that they came and saw me perform in a brand new show, singing new music, and witnessing the growth I’ve had as a woman and performer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love, constant support, guidance and trust within these last four years. Los quiero tanto! 💕
Sophie and I became friends two years ago when I trained in Muay Thai in Bangkok. This past week she visited me in the Bay— her first time to America!!! We had a blast seeing all the sights and being tourists: driving across the Golden Gate Bridge, seeing the sea lions at Pier 39, riding a cable car, chilling on the beach, visiting Walmart, soaking in a Korean Spa, clubbing all night (and recovering majorly the next day 😉), eating all the (vegan) food, hiking, and so much more!! Can’t wait till we’re reunited next time! 🤗👯♀️❤️ #worldscolliding
I’m a very busy person. Who isn’t these days, right!? I love this picture because it is a blending of two of my worlds. I am about to workout with some of my coworkers, but first I have to finish up some of my work from the day. As an elementary counselor, you never know what is going to come up and what you will have to do. But I got changed into my workout gear and set a time limit so I wouldn’t miss my after school workout crew!
Do you have a bunch of different worlds that you are a part of? Work, parent, friend, coach, neighbor, etc.? I know we all are! I’ve had many people tell me that they have NO IDEA how I mange two babies, working full time, having a traveling husband, working out regularly and running a side gig. The answer is Devine Intervention! LOL! Just kidding. The answer is you do what you want to do. •
Do you have worlds that you would like to mesh? Would you like to learn how to make time for yourself and be a part of an amazing group? If so, if even just a little baby bit so, ASK! I promise it’s worth it! •
💕meet Beth! Beth Moyer is a former financial analyst and accountant from Nike - she worked closely with the management teams in the Jordan brand before leaving in April, 2017. She started her skincare business 4 years ago while she was still at Nike! ✨
“A.) I met with a former Nike coworker and ran into some others while on the Nike campus and learned that one of the guys, who was a super-smart guy in Nike strategy, left to work for Estée Lauder. He told my coworker that Lauder's BIGGEST strategy problem right now is HOW TO DEAL W/ RODAN + FIELDS stealing their market share.
B.) At the corporate event last night in Portland, a sales director who came from Estée Lauder a few months ago said that just before she left Lauder, she attended a corporate event for top sales executives. She said they are basically trying to figure out our model and HOW THEY CAN ADJUST THEIR BUSINESS because they are freaking out.
My point: Estée Lauder has been around for 80+ years and owns MANY of the brands we all know. We are completely DISRUPTING THE INDUSTRY and they have no idea what to do about it. We are already #1 and the fastest growing skincare brand. That in itself is difficult to do! But, only 3 out of 10 people know about us. There is SO MUCH GROWTH POTENTIAL HERE.
I’m partnered with the skincare brand that is seeing similar growth to Amazon.” ✨🙌🏻🎉 .
Reunited with these crazy talented babes last night. Weirdly enough, @kolusola and I went to high school together (@phillipsacademy), @scotthoying and I went to college together (@uscedu ) and I followed in @kirstin ‘s footsteps as Lauren in @kinkybootsbway ! All walks of life with these guys ! Tune in to @nbc Oct 29th to see them kill one of my favorite @wicked_musical songs! ❤️ @ptxofficial #worldscolliding#wicked15 👗: @shopshoshanna
I absolutely love rainy days, even if I'm driving across town for an audition with Leo...Yep- second last minute audition in a row. I've had 3 auditions in the last 3 days. I'm so thankful for the opportunities and excited to see what else comes my way. So far I've booked 1 of the 3 and I'm waiting to hear back from the other 2. Not bad! After this mornings audition, I took Leo to the playground to play and we had the whole place to ourselves! #weloverainydays#raininginla#auditions#actorlife#momlife#worldscolliding#happysaturday
“I’m so glad we’re still friends,” you said back then.
“5 years and counting,” I replied.
How innocent, our understanding of time...thinking those mere years seemed like a long while.
Then you passed, and I learned what a long time really means.
You would have turned 31 today. Yet you’ll stay 29 as I grow older (assuming nothing happens to me as well). But, though the distance in years will keep growing, I will never leave you behind.
Happy birthday, Janelle.
I love you forever. I miss you always.
