Quiero compartirles mi hallazgo de esta semana... El Chorrillo es una pequeña caída de aguas puras entre las montañas, en el linde del Parque Amboró por el lado de Samaipata. Un mágico lugar escondido que deben de conocer.
I want to share with you my findings this week ... El Chorrillo is a small fall of pure waters between the mountains, at the edge of the Amboró Park on the Samaipata side. A magical ✨ hidden place that you should know.
Day 11: All I had were my thoughts for 8 hours, and it was the most satisfying feeling ever. We are now descending down. Ascending up the past couple of days was exciting because we had an end point: Everest Basecamp. But descending down is another game in itself...
Finally arrived at Chiang Mai in the North of Thailand.
We got to our hostel and went straight out explore and in the evening began with some drinks meeting other travellers and got really jealous as I didn't want to go home. After a few drinks and some chatting, we headed off to the North Gate Jazz house. It looks a little run down, but super cute and watched two sets with different instruments and everything. Bliss.
Elephant Nature Park 🐘
Up bright and early and a jumped into the mini bus to the Elephant Nature Park which is a sanctuary and rescue park for elephants.
On arrival, we got straight into it and was able to feed the elephants and eased into their behaviour and how to approach them. So many have been broken, abused and over worked and there are so many.
Day Two: We got more exploration of the park and learn about the elephants history and one even cuddled with me! Felt like crying that she trusted me! Our last activity we made banana rice balls for older elephants with no teeth and then we got to feed the older females and learn how they even check the rice balls for medicine and drop them proving how clever they are. When we got back to the city, we headed out to the night market for food and shopping 🤗
Day Three: Another early start with Paul rushing me out the door and off to Akha's Cookery Course.
We set off to the morning market where our cook went through all sorts of different vegetables and ingredients I'd never even heard off and was awesome to watch.
Ingredients picked it was back to the kitchen to make and prepare. I managed to get chilli paste into my eye while mixing so paul had to walk me blind to the sink to wash it out (yes, it had to be me) but it was really good day and left with a cook book and a little inspiration to cook more when i got home. My favourite dish we cooked was without a doubt the Massaman Chicken curry and spring rolls. With our last night Paul suggested we headed off to this restaurant called Secret learning, it was an amazing and the owner Simone loves his job and was a nice break from noodles and rice 🌇
Next stop for us is a scooter trip to Pai 🏍🏍
I thought the super colorful Choi Hung Estate in Kowloon would be the perfect #traveltuesday image to interrupt my social media hiatus. I recently redeemed a few frequent flier miles on a flight to Hong Kong for this coming spring. I’m super stoked that I will be returning to my favorite city in the world. 🇭🇰
So I thought I’d make day 4 about NYC post a little more personal. The reason being is that the weather was actually horrid 😂 have a look into my social experience about travel and how I over came and am still over coming social anxiety. It pops up for everyone in various forms!
