Steve Stringer, physiotherapist, has been working his magic with an InSync client who came to InSync to work with Steve and his Running Enhancement Program.
Below is a wonderful post by Steve and the outcome of his experience with Ang. ‘Recently I had the pleasure of working with Ang during her preparation for the upcoming @runmelbourne half marathon. During the initial assessment it was identified she had a right proximal hamstring tendinopathy that would affect her within a couple kms of running and would only worsen with the more she ran. This would contribute to an irregular running regime with no structure.
The overall running plan for Ang included a hamstring strengthening program (both hip and knee dominant exercises), neural mobility, a structured running plan that included higher intensity running sessions and the following running verbal cues: ➡️Improve her trunk position, essentially to run more upright (with a reduced forward lean) ➡️Decrease her elbow to trunk angle.
Throughout her sessions she naturally increased her knee flexion during the swing phase while also shifting to more mid-forefoot strike.
