G is for Grateful for life
Sometimes, we as humans have the tendency to moan about stuff. I know some people who can literally moan all day. We moan about things at work, moan about our home life and we moan about life in general.
At times those moans have a purpose because they can be instrumental to change. Nevertheless, sometimes we just moan for the sake of it. Some of us like the sound of our own voice.
I was speaking to a friend the other day and she was telling me about her parent who is unwell. As I was listening to the account of what was happening, I was overwhelmed by a wave of gratitude. This also caused me to reflect on the life of my mother who passed away when I was 21.
She was a woman of faith and even in her last breath she was grateful for the life she lived and praised the almighty. Remembering this, often helps me to shut my mouth when I want to complain about trivial things and it helps me to speak a better word.
My life is far from perfect but when I consider those who are less fortunate, those who don’t have a roof over their heads, those who are suffering from illness, those who need help just to breathe, I can only be grateful for life.
I’m guilty of forgetting to count my blessings some days. I have visions of what a good life looks like, but actually it’s also important to remember that a good life is what I have now too.
Many have not woken up this morning and many will leave this earth by the end of the day. Do we spend too much time complaining about what we don’t have and not enough time showing gratitude for what we have? Things could be better but things could also be more problematic.
Let’s remember to be grateful for life. Count your blessings, name them one by one. #wordstoinspire#motivation

Girl, this new week:
Whatsoever things are true
Whatsoever things are honest
Whatsoever things are just
Whatsoever things are pure
Whatsoever things are lovely
Whatsoever things are of good report
If there be any virtue
And if there be any praise
THINK ON THESE THINGS
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of PEACE shall be with you.

F is for Fun. Have fun!
I do a lot of rushing around and lots of the things I do make my heart smile. However, enjoy them so much mainly because I know it makes others happy, which makes me happy. However do I often forget to have fun for me, just for the sake of it? Yes indeed! The daily grind can do that to us.
My children are good at reminded me to lighten up a bit. My daughter often tells me that I work too much. She’s not wrong! I’m always working on something and grafting here and there. So hearing her say this makes me take a moment and reflect. I discover when I’m feeling a little low, it’s usually because I haven’t injected fun in my life which doesn’t involve making others happy.
We love visiting the woods. I used to love climbing trees and swinging on rope swings as a child. I had so much fun. I reminded myself of that one day and instead of just watching my children swing on the rope swing, I had a go too. It was scary but amazing. I felt so good and free.
Sometimes we need to lighten up and have fun like we used to as children, when we were carefree. As adults we are allowed to do that. Are we having fun in our lives which isn’t about entertaining other people, our spouses, our children or the people we work for?
If the answer is no, I challenge you to find ways to have fun this week and see if it makes a difference to the way you feel. #wordstoinspire#mondaymotivation#countdownto2019
