Finding things to do with my #limitations
May not be anything super impressive but I #wontquit and will not go backwards.
May not have all my equipment while we wait to close on the new house but where there was a will there is a way.
Today’s race details.☝️Goal: 1:49:59. Actual: 1:51:55. Still some work to do but chipped some time off from last month’s Half. I felt great to mile 9 and then my form fell apart a bit! 😳 The great thing about not reaching your goal ( hey...what!? ) is getting to sign up for another half to try all over again! #wontquit#fitover55#halfmarathon#lovetorun#vaporfly#oisellevolée#oiselle
The end of the week is near! Only 2 more new workouts this week. I have to tell you, this phase is really kicking my butt. I'm loving it! I woke up again needing that extra sleep. So I decided to sleep in and do my workout at home rather than the gym. .
Today was leg day. But for some reason I'm feeling sore all over right now. 🤣 The workout had a combination of weighted exercises and exercises on the sliders. It was all about burning out the muscles. And boy did it burn. 🔥 Then when I think it's all over, there's a bonus round. Surrenders with a squat hold at the end. But that's not all. After the workout I had to climb two flights of stairs. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Overall nutrition is going well. Did have some sweets today. But not too worried as I made sure to track my food and water intake so it shouldn't make much of a difference. But we will see come tomorrow! The biggest challenge will be the weekend! 😱

Do you know your why? Identifying it can take you from “I don’t know how I’m going to do it” to “I don’t have an option NOT to do it.” You’ll find purpose and drive. I am not just referring the gym; this is applicable to any aspect of your life. And just as life is dynamic, your reason may be as well changing and evolving.
The gym is part of my life, who I am. While my primary reason, isn’t mental health, let me tell you just how impactful it can be to staying healthy. After a few days of being unable to make it, it became clear to me just how much it clears my thoughts, gives me peace and balance.
And here’s something funny, I did ab work today🙄 I never target them but I need to.
She believed she could , so she jumped in and gave it her all. When she felt discouraged or when things didn’t go as planned, she put her face in books, took classes and training ,asked mentors for advice and tried and learned new ways of doing things.

But it is the perfect timing ..... Not everything that you tell yourself will be positive or kind, but make sure that when you do you realize there's only one of you,
Only one body, only one opportunity to become better and run with it .... It is very uncomfortable to put myself out there and show my flaws, my insecurities, my extra skin. But I also know that there are women out there that need to know there's more of us that go through moments of dislike and struggle to accept our body .
And that it is ok to have good days and bad days but the thing to remember is to get up and keep going no matter how hard it becomes , because we are stronger that any flaw

stronger than any negative thought !

I was reluctant to post this but I felt obligated to show and tell my story and my progress! If I can do it so can you! On the left I weighed in at 187lbs. and was not eating healthy or living a healthy lifestyle. The loss of my fiance and struggles with his side of the family made me severely depressed and unhappy. I suffer from ptsd and extreme anxiety so I decided after loosing about 20lbs I would join the gym. The pic on the right is my progress after 10 months. I now weigh 142lbs and I eat healthier foods and feel so much more happy and positive about life. Life keeps moving forward and so do I! Eliminate negative people in your life and only surround yourself with those who are like minded. Don't get frustrated with yourself if you don't see results right away. Be patient and keep pushing! We got this!!!!!!

I haven’t wanted to give up in the past 8 weeks of this journey, but I have gotten down on myself and wished/prayed the Lord could help this weight fall off🙏🏼
But in my workout video today, Joel said mind over body, your mind will instantly want to stop when your legs are BURNING but you just keep telling yourself you can keep going. And that is what I did tonight to finish my workout.👊🏼
I wanted to quit and just pick up tomorrow but I knew I couldn’t let myself down! So yes, I’m saying it gets hard, some days more than others but it is so worth it to keep going!❤️

Way back when, this weight here, which I did for 3 sets of 2 after doing 20 reps with a weight increase to this weight, I wouldnt have been able to even move off the rack let alone confidently squat or walk back. I still feel like this could be better but this is what I look at when I feel like crap and say look at what I can do. Yeah I weigh 173, the same weight from when I started 10 months ago but 10 months ago, I maxed out 135 for a single rep with assistance from a spotter.
And I still believe and know I have more work to do to tweak this so when I'm ready for my first meet, I am comfortable even while panicking.. Some days are good. Some days are bad. Some days are amazing and other days are abysmal but they are your days and you live them. And that's all that matters.
Excuses set you up for failure. They prevent accountability. When someone starts telling me an excuse, I either stop listening or offer them a solution. So, when today I was legitimately unable to get to the gym, I found a solution....me and a kettlebell in my bedroom.
It’s not pretty or ideal but it was far better than nothing. It kept me in line with my goals. Since it was just a 35lb kb, I focused on supersets, little rest time and a lot of pulse reps for a good pump at the end.
And no, I do not own plain socks😆😆

Seguimos con el entrenamiento para el Miami Marathon 2019. Hoy nuestro equipo GGO completó la retante ruta de Sabrina y sus 16 millas bajo un candente sol navideño que hizo la prueba aún más fuerte. Hoy pusieron en práctica las recomendaciones del coach para lograr completar su objetivo.

El Coach Camacho, dando la técnica de cómo correr cuestas, en el Community Run 10/21/18, ya que la mayoría no lleva una postura adecuada mientras corre en cuestas.
Vencer la gravedad mientras corres cuesta arriba es la principal dificultad que tendrás. Para solucionarlo necesitarás un esfuerzo extra de los músculos de tus piernas. Además, el desnivel influye en tu pisada cuando decides correr cuesta arriba y eso implica mejorar el efecto rebote de tu carrera. Lo mejor que puedes hacer a la hora de subir cuestas corriendo es mantener una posición adecuada:
No inclinar la cintura hacia delante en exceso. A pesar de que la inclinación es inevitable cuando subes una cuesta corriendo, lo cierto es que la mayor parte de corredores se inclinan demasiado. De esta forma, inhibes la flexión natural de tu cadera y limitas la capacidad de despegue de tus pies. Es una forma de modificar el centro de gravedad de tu cuerpo así que mejor permanecer atento a la posición de tu cintura.
Mantén la cabeza erguida y la frente en alto. Es imprescindible que tu cabeza se encuentre en la posición correcta para que tu columna cervical no sufra innecesariamente.
