That awkward moment when you start joining hiking groups for Georgia because outdoor community is the best, but you have zero clue the cities people are talking about when they say where they live in their introduction posts...
People are throwing out cities like Lawrenceville, Doraville, Dahlonega, and Byron & I’m over here like “Heyyyyy, I’m from the polar opposite side of the country and the only cities I know in Georgia are Gainesvillle, Atlanta, Augusta, and Ackworth....” 🤷♀️🤷♀️
Also, I scanned two different hiking groups last night and I have some pretty serious opinions about these “hikes” people are posting about. Sorry not sorry. Can I pack the entire state of Washington in my car and take it with me?!
Moving is hard. Send help (and mountains please)!
Life is about balance. You have to find the middle ground and figure out what works best for you. That balance looks different for every individual. So get to know yourself. Try different middle grounds. And find your balance.
Growth never happens by leaving your feet on the ground.
Marci, @lemarci, taught me this the first time I met her. She came with us to Plumbers Crack and made a ridiculous good attempt at something entirely new.
I drove all the way into L.A. (which if you've done it know that it takes guts, too much time, and a ball of stress) because I wanted this portrait of her lovely face for the calendar.
Find the portrait and words in this years Ladies Lock Off Calendar. Link in bio.

Walking uphill in the snow for hours is exactly like it sounds... the best part is finally making it back to the chapstick that’s been sitting in the car 😂 thanks @fueled_by_yerba for my first mountaineering experience. No one else I’d rather suffer with ❤️
Be kinder to yourself. And then let your kindness flood the world. - Pema Chödrön ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Isn’t the relationship we have with the world (and everyone in it) intrinsically linked to the relationship we have with ourselves?
It’s no coincidence that what is better for us aligns with what is kindest to Mother Earth. There is no separateness in our wellness; we suffer or thrive together. In that sense, considering how we affect our environment is a necessary element of true self care. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Harsh chemicals, cruelty, and environmental devastation does not sound like a recipe for healing to us. That’s why Green Bohème only stocks cruelty-free skin care products using sustainably harvested essential oils and natural botanicals presented with the least amount of plastic possible. When the entire line of production, from human rights, animal rights, and the environment is evaluated, you get soul food for your skin and radical self-love ✌︎🖤 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Last weekend we were trying to do a hike in @shenandoahnps (#fallfoliage ), but after seeing the bumper-to-bumper leafpeeper traffic on Skyline Drive on the way to the trailhead, decided to go to Massanutten instead. Don't really understand why it's always so much less crowded when it's got all kinds of cool rocks ⛰️🍁
Did you ever read ‘The Secret Garden’ when you were younger? I was always enchanted by the idea of a secret walled garden. Imagine my excitement when, in a little part of Morocco, I came across this beautiful walled garden. I was in heaven until I saw this mysterious door which was locked and I got so frustrated that I couldn’t find out what was behind! I imagine it was probably fairies... 🧚🏼♀️🧚🏼♂️
Over hang 🧗🏼♀️ Spent some time working on the overhangs this afternoon which I usually ignore because I’m so bad at them, always forget all technique a throw myself at each hold 👎🏻 about time I cracked that fear #neverstopexploring

Some days I sit and take myself back to the beautiful days on the Grand Canyon. The days of drinking boxed rosé, wearing our best dress, laughing with tears streaming down my face, and killing it at cribbage while opening another box of wine. Pure bliss.
“Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will scatter”
Trouble can often be traced to an individual—the stirrer, the poisoner of goodwill. If you allow such people the opportunity to drain the energy from your world, you and others will succumb to their influence. Don’t wait for the troubles and the drama they cause to multiply, don’t try to negotiate with them, do not give them such power—they are irredeemable. Neutralize their influence by removing them from your life. Strike at the source of the trouble and the sheep will scatter.
Oftentimes gaining peace is worth more than the loss.
Every once in a while I get a little too busy to do photos. A little too caught up in the other responsibilities and asks that have been thrown my way. After days or weeks of lacking inspiration, of feeling lethargic and complacent, I’ll realize why my soul burning passion has temporarily subsided. Fires do that when you don’t feed them. My fire is photography. I crave that slow burn of artistic expression to warm me. Slide into my DMs and ask about booking a body positive, winter wonderland session and see more of my whimsical portraits on @wildwedwhimsy
Somewhere in the Mojave National Preserve. For a seemingly barren landscape the Mojave has a rich history. This is the ancestral home of the Mojave, Chemehuevi, and Vanyume and pictographs can be found throughout the desert landscape. Later miners and ranchers moved into the Mojave. The skeletons of corals and mines freckle the landscape. Today many people come to visit the Mojave. There are hiking trails, interpretive centers, and hundreds of miles of bumpy dirt roads to explore. Some of these roads have been used for hundreds of years and link up the precious water sources found in the desert. #mojavenationalpreserve#mojavedesert#mojaveroad#california#californiahistory
A straight predictable river was not for her, she longed for twists turns and rapids.
She was meant to flow, not be still and stagnate. To create her own waves and ripples on her way.
She was a force of nature ready to take on any new route and destination. She was always moving forward, gently, fiercely, elegantly, powerfully on a journey to destinations only meant for her wild heart. ✨
Knowing and trusting that whatever the route the river carved out ahead of her was meant to be, for she trusted herself, her path and her instinct. ✨
She knew she was on her way to beautiful destinations, she listened to her callings and she was not willing to carry anything that did not serve her upstream. ✨
"Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean"🌲 John Muir always gets me!
Everyone should have a favorite John Muir quote. What's yours?
*** Interview *** Link In Bio *** One of the best things about ageing is the growing contentment with who we are. However time and time again we are bombarded by the notion that we must not grow old resulting in a whole generation of women who can find themselves feeling invisible.
Having worked hard to battle through the insecurities of our younger years, finally reaching that harmony of self belief, a new challenge soon reaches us!
