This #throwback may be a little dark... but I try my best not to be superficial and be as real as I can. This post is not for pity. But I’m hoping that it may inspire someone out there.
This was me at 21 years old, 7 years ago around this time. I was living out of state, in an abusive relationship and moved back to PA on the whim. I didn’t have a place to go. Even my mom didn’t allow me to move back with her. But I did have a very good friend, Geo, who let me stay with him, his sister and her husband.
Anyways.. I was at my own worst. My rock bottom. My life has been up and downs, which some has been my own fault. But this was my all time low. I barely cared about my well being or what I wanted. After a month of moving back to PA, I got my own place. After living by myself for five years, I think that was just what I needed. For me to have to rely on my own choices without the influence of others. True independence. That is one of the things that helped me grow.
These pictures are just here to show you how tiny I was compared to now. To put in perspective I am currently at 165 lbs and in these photos I am 110 lbs and I’m 5’5”. I’ve battled ED on and off in the past (bulimia, binge eating, etc.) but at this time I think I was just under so much stress that it caused the weight loss.
Sometimes in life you will just have to help yourself. NO ONE is going to do it for you. And even the people who are there for you might not be able to help you.
🤸🏻♀️Inversion- Handstand Work 🔈On
I’ve only got a few months left on my bet with Leo, so dialing in a bit here in my Practice 😂😉. For many of us inversions are difficult and scary. After trial and practice with a variety of training strategies I found 4 main points of focus that have been very helpful in my growth.
📍Dealing with the fear of falling. I have found inversions facing the wall versus facing away from it helped condition me through that feeling and fear the most. It also helps with learning total body engagement vs resting structures.
📍Shoulder Drive: Driving through my shoulders with great intent provides a lot more stability than allowing for slack or bend in arm and shoulders. This became a practice of intent and awareness . 📍Glute & Core Activation. To balance on hands you need to become one solid structure and that requires tension ALL the way up and down the chain
📍Hands. A lot of folks, including myself, make the initial mistake of placing too much weight into bottom of palm and not higher than into the knuckle meat of your hand.
P.s. I don’t take this nearly as seriously as I sound lol. This is all really for fun in the end 😊, but it’s a sweet side effect to get strong as bull in the process 💪🏻
💯Facts-These last 11 weeks have been long, emotional, brutal, tiresome, and frustrating. But with all the hard work put in towards the daily Strength Training, the early morning cardio sessions, the discipline, the will power, and Meditation is what makes the end result so worth it.
For me, not one Prep has been duplicated. I always learn something ✨new✨ about myself while competing in this Sport. Whether it’s the amount of food I add in or subtract OR how my body looks at certain times of the day depending on how much water I’ve had. The steps are different but there is no such thing as ‘skipping the struggle’.

Do you have someone to cheer you on and/or keep you on track with reaching your goals??
That #postshow cheat belly 👌🏼 woke up the next day about 5 lbs heavier than stage weight of 155 lbs... still enjoyed some treats the next few days and have since been back on plan (mostly 🤷🏼♀️) everything I am eating though is all nutrient dense wholesome foods. Last night I was over my macros some but it was from extra veggies I wanted and egg whites. I consciously made the decision to eat a little extra and I know calories are calories but I didn’t go out and binge or smash a burger 👅🤤 I am doing a HELL of a lot better this go around post show reverse. May not be perfect and I can take accountability for it but I’m still tracking my macros, not binging, not restricting and not trying to “make up” for it by doing hours of extra cardio.... been there done that before ‼️ it’s not a fun place to be mentally or physically 😔 Right now I’m 6lbs up from stage weight and I’m good with it. I still am trying to be cognizant of what I’m eating, finding balance with food and life again and keeping relatively lean until we kick prep into gear again around January 👊🏼👊🏼 #postshowblues is a real thing, familiarize yourself.. be prepared and make a plan that works for you! 💕 keep your goals in sight but don’t live your life feeling like you can’t really live your life 🙏🏼
⚡️TRX Power-Up! Move of the day⚡️ Face down in prone position - get horizontal! Place handles under the arms directly next to the chest, lock it there. Stationary foot hops off the ground, knee up the other leg powerfully and bring it back as far as possible. Repeat. 20 each side = quads on fiya 🔥 @trxtraining @arodcorp tank
