Wild Card/Tea Towel/Tote Bag Wednesday?
We saw @jodiemarksdesign at (I think!?) her first craft fair last weekend with @madeinbristolshops at Springfest. I think her tote bags are my favourite, although her greeting cards printed onto recycled card and wrapped in biodegradable plastic also get my thumbs up. 👍
Catch Jodie at @estateoftheartsbristol this Saturday for their Art Fair, along with our very own @skysiouki!
The YGT love to champion other epic females and this morning we would like to raise the roof for this amazingly funny and honest woman.
Check out @mother_pukka on insta and follow her incredibly hilarious stories. .
She is honest// witty// entrepreneurial and produces the most amazing content. .
High five to this epic woman for campaigning and demonstrating pure authenticity .
Dear our amazing clients,
This year Bella MEDI SPA didn’t nominate or put in a submission for the 2018 Clock Awards.
We want to thank our beautiful clients for their continued support, loyalty and friendship to Bella MEDI SPA over the years! We wouldn’t be the salon we are today without it!
We have been lucky enough to have won our category twice and come runner up numerous times.
We are so fortunate to be surrounded by so many amazing beauty salons and hairdressers! Girl bosses in this town are pretty phenomenal! I’m all about supporting each other “when women support women incredible things happen”
We wish those nominated and the finalists the best of luck and can’t wait to see the results this year.
We did get nominated for people’s choice, Thankyou to those that voted!
Congratulations and good luck to all the local businesses!
Love Abby x
#tb to a couple of weeks ago when I went on my girl @dominiquemullally hen✨
These 3 photos pretty much sum up the trip. Non-stop laughter and fun from start to finish, (there are hundreds more but not sure they’re social media safe 🤣)✨
This was the first time I’d been away without my kids in 5 years, purely for pleasure. I’ve been on the odd business trip (which are always fun) without them but most of the time I would have at least one of them with me as I was breastfeeding✨
So this was first time in 5 years I got to be “Kate” again, not just “mummy”✨
After considering not going at least 100 times and dealing with the feelings of mummy guilt, I can assure you that I well and truly let me hair down✨
I didn’t actually realise how much I needed the break from my kids until i went. This has only affirmed my belief that as mothers, it is essential to make time for ourselves, to be by ourselves✨
Being a Mum is constant! You can’t phone in sick or take a days annual leave if you don’t fancy doing it that day. It’s non-negotiable✨
So making time to fill your own cup, doing what you love, surrounded by people who bring you joy, 100% makes you a better mother when you’re with your children✨
So ask for support and prioritise your own needs, self care and just for fun. You’ll return back to your children with a fresh perspective, appreciation and possibly some more patience because you’ve missed your babies that much✨
But as much as I had an absolute ball, I think my next trip away from the family is definitely going to be a retreat.....a silent one!😆✨

For reasons that can be rooted deep in sexism, racism, classism, ableism, or any other outdated and harmful way of thinking; some people will see others as unworthy of their respect. For those who can't be convinced to change their mind, it's often more healthy to simply not engage. Happy 8th Birthday to our son Jake! -
8 years ago I became a mother and suddenly I became responsible for a little person. I remember the moment clearly where I thought ‘crap, this is all on me (and hubby)’ How do we do this right?! -
The first few months I struggled with post natal depression though I didn’t tell anyone at the time. I lied my way through it and told everyone I was fine BUT I felt like a failure. I felt like a failure because I couldn’t breastfeed very well. He also cried all the time because he had colic and I didn’t know how to help. He didn’t sleep at night, only had naps in the day. I just felt like I had already failed at motherhood. -
BUT fast forward 8 years and I can now reflect on how much he has taught me about who I am and the kind of mother I strive to be. -
He has taught me that:
* it’s okay to ask for help, it’s not a sign of weakness. Nobody does life on their own. * you have to find your own way and it might not be the path that everyone else thought you would follow.
* you have to keep trying, keep working on solutions, be flexible but never give up. * that making mistakes is always okay. Just keep learning. -
I am forever grateful that events happened just as they did and that Jake is exactly the person he is, I wouldn’t change a thing. -
Who has given you your best life lessons?
Oftentimes feelings of self-doubt, defeat, anxiety and failure sneak up on us. When under attack by these negative feelings, let's try to feed our courage instead of fueling our fear.
Today, I am inspired by my awesome people to keep going and to always put value first above all else.
Dropping in this timeless wisdom from the great Maya Angelou as inspiration for all us to never stop moving forward in the highs and lows of our journey : "You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it".
PS: How are you, my darlings? Sorry for being MIA lately. It's so nice to be back! 😉😍 #happyhumpday
This week's morning walk brought to you courtesy of my kids (incredibly) playing peacefully with each other for half an hour this morning.
Not all of you can just stroll out the door when things are going smoothly at home. (My kids are *just* at an age where I feel comfortable doing this.)
But here's your PSA to keep an eye out for when you CAN take a moment for self care. Have a go-to 'something' that you enjoy - a podcast, a playlist, a book, a destination - so when you get those precious few minutes to yourself, you can hop to it.
A friend told me she once listened to the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack 🎧 while flipping through Real Simple magazine 📖💜. It was only a few minutes before one of her young kids needed her, but it recharged her in a way that checking email wouldn't have.
What's a quick little something that you enjoy when you can work it into your day?
#humpday 🐫 Woohoo! It’s going dooown in TWO days. Ready for us, Houston? Alura & I are ready for you.💄💋 Hit the link in my bio or go straight to diceygrenor.eventbrite.com or diceygrenorbooks.com for advance and VIP tickets.
Maysoun Odeh Gangat is a social entrepreneur who founded 96 NISAA FM, the first women-centered radio station in the Levant. For those not familiar, Levant is a region spanning Asia, Africa and Europe. In particular, it covers the Eastern Mediterranean, including Cyprus, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Turkey.
NISAA is the first women's radio in Levant, which is important for the feminist movement as it breaks through the dominantly male perspective in the region. Maysoun Odeh Gangat is using the media to challenge traditional gender roles and expectations assigned to women so that women can be seen as important members of society. She has helped reshape the region's perspective on what women can do, celebrating women's contributions and achievements that are usually overlooked.
More importantly, NISAA is addressing women's issues in the dominantly Arab region. It empowers women by presenting them in a different light and by letting them know that they are not alone in their struggles. NISAA's staff, hosts, and guests are also mostly women, which brings them opportunities that they would otherwise not have.
Maysoun Odeh Gangat deserves recognition for her work as a women's rights advocate. Hopefully, in the future, there would be more outlets where women can be celebrated and empowered in the Levant region.

So proud of you @alwaysmyra
In the rigmarole of life, I've had the greatest difficulty 1. Understanding and 2. Prioritising 'me' time.
I've struggled with this for as long as I can remember! The concept of giving Self at least an equal importance if not more, is fairly new to me and I'm still trying to adapt the same in my lifestyle. I am a beginner at this, but I must say that it's going well. I'm happier!
For many of us (and this is especially for Ladies) being a Mother, Wife, Worker (your job role) and other Relationship commitments (daughter, sister etc) take up all of our mind space.
By mind space I mean 24-7-365 without fail, without a break we think about our responsibility towards these people; do things for these people, and behave / accomodate / adjust our lives and our very being for these people! This takes up our entire mind leaving no space for anything else.
Mind you, 'these people' may not even know or be aware of the level of our commitment towards them, or they may not even want us to go that far, but we do it.
And this is not healthy. For our mind and later on for our physical health.
You & Your World - if this concept seems alien to you, Start building it. Work on it. Create it. Now.
When I began I was blank. Not for days, not for months, but years.
The point is, whatever you give, tangible or intangible it comes from somewhere. Nobody has an infinite resource- we are normal human beings. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do not give yourself away so much that one day you realise that you have nothing else left to give and have lost yourself completely.
A new path is right in front of us. We only need to choose it!
Do you know where your clothes comes from??
I’m not going to lie, for a long time it wasn’t a habit for me to check my tag to see where my clothes came from, who made it, or even what it was made from.
I so proud to say that I have come a long way from those times. When creating NN I wanted to change those things completely.
I want everyone using Nubia Natalie to know that their activewear is made from 100% eco friendly and recyclable materials like plastic bottles! I want you to know that our clothes is made right here in LA. I want you to know that there are never any harsh chemicals or toxins from dyes in our clothes. And finally I want you to know that by purchasing NN you aren’t just helping the planet, supporting a small business, helping LA thrive, but you are also contributing globally because a portion of our proceeds goes to help schools & the children of wonderful indigenous communities!
