PART 1 Fasting: those who’ve been following me know I’ve been water fasting. I do it every few months, I even do it when I get sick (which is rare), I intermittent fast daily and I love the benefits of it. Now I’m not saying all should go out and fast, one has to consider their current health state, medications and mental abilities. Under the right guidance, however, it is an incredible tool. 
I break my prolonged fasts with fruit, again that’s my personal choice. I feel raw foods are the best to put in our bodies after we have sent it through some healing. If the large amounts of fructose scare you, go for vegetables, they are amazing too. 
Why Intermittent fast = good for illness, fat loss, and creating balance in your body. Now it is so common within the fitness industry for fat loss, but what we don't realise is that there are many more benefits to fasting for even the every day person. 
I intermittent fast daily and I guide most of  my clients, for many reasons.  My body has never been in as great of a state as is it right now. Physicaly, mentally and emotionally. 
So here is my take on why intermittent fasting is so good for all of us. 
Our bodies enter many phases and cycles, when considering food, there are two phases. Food energy storage or food energy burning. You can only be in one or the other. If you are constantly eating your body is in a constant state of storing food energy.
When looking at statistics, in 1997 we ate only 3 meals, in 2005 we ate 6 meals, and so on. It is like we are eating more and perhaps in a longer state of storing food energy and hence why we have more illness, and obesity.  Because when we eat we are not just feeding our bodies, we are feeding whatever else is growing within it. 
When you eat, your insulin goes up, when you fast your insulin goes down.  So for those who are constantly eating, their bodies are in that constant state of high insulin.

We all have those days where we just don’t feel in the mood to go to the gym. This feeling of lacking desire to contribute your fair share of sweat equity could be fueled by any number of reasons. Whatever that reason may be, you’re having a bad day and the gym is NOT high on your priority list.

Seriously.

Even as a coach I have bad days. Days where I’m tired, days where I’m exhausted. Days where I’m stressed and days where I’m livid with frustration. I even have days where I feel like I’m moving slower than a sloth. I have days where everything seems to be going wrong and I can’t seem to get everything back on track no matter the effort.
.
Those days suck. Those days working out seems like a bad time.
.
In the past; I made the mistake on a select few occasions of skipping my workout.
.
Bad idea.
.
Not only was I riddled with guilt because other than whatever mental tie-up I was experiencing I was fine to put in my time, BUT it did NOT improve my physical state in the least!
.
No matter how bad my mood or energy has been, maintaining the habit of working out even if takes me twice the time and effort to complete a normal workout has provided an incredible return on investment for both my mental and physical health. I HAVE NEVER regretted a workout after it’s been completed. Not to mention the increased energy, release of “feel-good” endorphins and maintenance of a progressive habit makes you feel like a success no matter how your daily scoreboard might be adding up.

Lately I have been feeling like there just isn’t enough time in the day to get it all done! Sound familiar?  I feel that the more that I take on, the less time I have to do it all. Yes, that makes perfect sense, but HOW can I manage to get it all done?

I took some time today to evaluate my current routine & then came up with 7 ways to better my time management.

1. Know your goals. Always make sure that whatever you are doing is supporting your goals. If not, you are wasting time.
2. Prioritize wisely. Put your to-do list into categories like urgent, important, not urgent. This will allow you to work on the items that are most important first.
3. Say “no” to things! You are the boss & in control. If you don’t have enough time within your day to get important items done, why would you say “yes” to attending your neighbors daughters birthday party that you don’t want to go to? It is OK to say no!
4. Plan ahead. Take time to either plan our your day or your week. Follow the plan & make changes as needed. 
5. Eliminate distractions. Turn off the phone, music and/or television & get to work. 
6. Watch where you spend your time. Often times we work on things just to be busy, but in reality it is just busy work. 
7. Take care of yourself! Be sure to get enough sleep, eat balanced meals regularly, hydrate & don’t forget to schedule your workouts!

Ok actually I can only do half lotus as my hips and knees just say NO 😆 I accept this is my yoga journey and there are many things to work on which I will enjoy the challenge and progression with.  I am really inspired and awestruck by the skilled practitioners hosting this challenge and the tutorials I save in my ever expanding yoga folder to refer back to.

We want to give a HUGE shoutout to @medinamovers for making our crazy move a whole lot easier. Jimmy and his team not only moved all of our things out of uhaul trucks and storage units into a giant pod but came back a week later to unload that pod up 3 flights of stairs into our new home. They handled all of our valuables with care and not a single item was broken or damaged. Plus they were super friendly which made moving surprisingly enjoyable. If you are in need of a moving company I would highly recommend them!!! We are definitely bringing them back for round 3 when we buy our dream home next year 🏡

I’ve got a bone to pick here. I know, I know, nuts are healthy and a great source of this and that.... BUT... For my sisters suffering from chronic yeast infections, and anyone with a chronic fungal problem, a diet heavy in nuts and nut butters could be a contributor to your issue.

Poorly stored nuts go bad QUICKLY, are a covert source of MOLD that can contribute to fungal overgrowth, leading to overactive and/or poor immune response. 😷

Consider a temporary elimination of nuts from your diet to determine if it’s making you feel worse. Peanuts, pistachios and cashews have the highest mold content, but those of us with more sensitive yonis could be suffering from the stealthier culprits found in other types of poorly stored nuts (and seeds!) It's easy to feel like the concept of mind-body-spirit wellness is a "woo-woo" concept, but the reality is, it couldn't be more scientific or more scriptural. Both science and scripture demonstrate the definitive connection between our mental health, our spiritual health, and our physical health.

I have experienced this truth is ways I would have much rather avoided, but I know those experiences were part of God's plans for me.

I've been in those places of physical malaise. Not sure what's wrong, but knowing I didn't feel good. Where I was told I was "normal" and the symptoms were just things I would have to learn to live with. ::
Places of mental blah - feeling like the safest place is to be is checked out of life, because life felt like more than I could handle.  Full of contradicting feelings that created a rollercoaster of rage, sorrow, irritability, unexplained sadness, apathy. ::
Places of not feeling like myself. Where the fire that once fueled me had died, and I wondered what I had to offer to  anymore. ::
