She adorned herself with the jewel made of stars,
While the woman is adorned with a life full of scars. - ‘Woman and the Sea’ by Rosy Rao
Now this is the first time that I’ve used lines from my poem. I couldn’t stop myself after seeing this beautiful picture that was clicked by @inst.shan during one of our live videos for @keralatourism .
Sea has always been a favourite for me and most of us would connect to it. Specially the sea is denoted as a woman with all her feminine qualities right from bearing enormous lives and the beauty and awe inspiring strength.
The way she looks beautiful with the star studded sky in the backdrop, a woman looks beautiful with her life that brings her so many challenges. ::::::::
Some carry scars on their bodies right from birth marks, stretch marks to marks left after delivering a baby, while some are bruised by the men they trust. ::::::::
There are women who carry scars in the form of an ugly name that the society would bestow on them. O some even get scars on the heart and soul. ::::::::
These scars dear ladies, are the jewel you will carry all your life. They are what make you and strengthen you to face the world and stand strong like the Sea. We cover these scars with clothes and smiles, but these are the crowns we need to wear. These are the signs of our victory over the world and society. Let’s cherish them and live a life of joy ♥️ that only we can bring.
Do you ever feel out of control?
Like you're trying to control everything around you to keep it all from collapsing? Like every time you start gaining traction you hit a patch of ice and start spinning out again?
I remember hearing someone say to get REAL control of your life, relationships, mood etc, you have to let GO of the control first, stop trying to force and fix. I remember feeling like that was ass backwards advice, no way. ✋And then when it kinda started to make sense I rejected it because what I didn't know was way scarier. I was thinking okay my situation might be shitty but it's mine and I know I can handle it so I have to keep going this way .... but I desperately wanted change, a different life ... it was so twisted in my brain, but so SO normal. It's okay to be twisted, we all are .. I didn't know I was normal. I didn't know that if you're reading this you've felt this too. With someone you love who is toxic and negative, or staying too long in a job that isn't giving you everything you want, not taking any risks, these things feel so real but they're fake, and I was letting things hold me back.
Don't stay stuck friend...
The way to win is to beat your own brain.
YOUR brain, not the other brains all around you ... Put your oxygen mask on first and everything will start to change, promise, try it ♥️
It's easy to think about all the "things" you don't have by the time your 30... But it's about time to count the many blessings I have so far... By this time in my life I have: • Already traveled to over 25 countries
• Taught yoga on 3 continents
• Launched 2 successful yoga retreats with a 2 more on the way
• Have amazing yoga and dance certifications and awards
•2 college degrees (one in Travel and Tourism & one in Commercial Dance)
• An amazing family; including an incredible finance and beautiful dog
• A solid group of friends
• An online business that gives me the time and financial freedom I deserve
• A stellar team of motivated babes pursuing all their goals and dreams
• Amazing health (thanks to Kangen and Buti) !!! And so much more than that...Seriously, so proud to be where I am at this point in the game!
I'm going to keep reaching for more and being grateful for the life I have carved out for myself...and you should too 😍

There are so many amazing things that God wants to do for us. But too often we aren't the recipients of God's mind blowing miracles because we aren't willing to trust Him enough to put our feet in the "water." In Joshua chapter 3 the story is told of God miraculously stopping the flow of water in the Jordan river so that Israel could cross over on dry land. A miracle!! However this miracle didn't occur until the priests first took a step into the raging waters. Their miracle was dependant upon their ability to move forward in faith despite what was before them.
I firmly believe that there are some things that God wants to do for us but He can't because we allow fear and what we see to keep us from moving forward. So I want to encourage you to study Joshua chapter 3 and in bold faith get your feet wet 💦 so that you can receive your miracle!

As I’ve been posting, I just started a new job on Monday. But THIS was my biggest fear walking into the interview (for the job I now have as well as others). I’m a 32 year old newly married female. Prime age and stage of life to become a mom. (I currently do not have children.)
I was SO worried I wouldn’t be hired because the manager would worry I would be leaving on maternity leave at some point in the not so distant future.
And that SUCKS!
Luckily that did not happen to me, as I did get the job. HOWEVER, it totally SUCKS that I even had to worry about it! I’m an intelligent, hard working, qualified candidate. My age and gender shouldn’t matter, but I know it does. I feel blessed for this career opportunity. But I do plan on having a child at some point within the next 2 years.
When I was on my mid-20s (and engaged to my first husband), I went to a job interview where I was actually ASKED straight up if I was planning on having kids. I was SHOCKED as it is illegal to ask that. I lied and said no. I didn’t get that job, BUT every interview after that, I left my engagement ring at home.... It’s a sad world at times.
Again, I’m blessed for this new career path. This is a great company that doesn’t discriminate. But I know it happens, even though it isn’t right....
[Press Play] Just a day in Coaching - sharing the typical conversations I have with my clients on a day to day basis. We talk about everything - bubble tea included.
A lot of us when we’re faced with situations like “what am I supposed to do when I am about to be given (insert whatever food we think is not ideal in our terms here)?” We start to panic. We get anxious. We probably also think about things like “all my hard work is gonna go down the drain”.
But as a Coach, the last thing I’d do is to feed into your anxieties. In fact, you probably won’t ever get a straight out no from me. We talk about it. A lot. Because most times, you know what to do. You just need that little push to say you’ll do it yourself.
This client of mine is at Week 13 out of the whole entire year with me. Gotta be honest there isn’t any weight shift yet. BUT the last we checked in with her progress she mentioned that the changes she has felt so good about the last few weeks are her food choices, being aware of what and how she eats and how she feels good even if we haven’t lost any weight yet.
And that’s what matters. Coaching is more than just me telling you what to do to lose weight. Yeah that’s important too for sure but it’s about building up the necessary skills for you to not just lose weight, but to keep the weight for the rest of your life. It’s about changing your lifestyle first. And helping you not be so stressed out about that bubble tea. Really. Pass me a Melon Cheese Tea right now from LiHo thanks. 😋
I’m taking my last 6 slots for Coaching this week and next week before I settle down for the rest of the year. Click the link in my bio to apply and I’ll give you a call at your convenience. 💕
Honoured to attend and photograph The STRONGCAMP held by @brendabrouillard1 in Barrie this past weekend for @strongfitnessmag.
It was an incredible experience, and I'm so grateful of the opportunity. The passion, strength and drive in each of these women is so inspiring. This STRONGCAMP was incredibly uplifting.
After watching it first hand, I'm considering doing one myself. -It was that awesome.
I encourage anyone who hasn't attended a STRONGCAMP to highly consider it.
Success ain't always consecutive wins. It involves loss, pain failure.
Don't get discouraged....
Embrace it and learn from it. "Opportunity is everywhere, if you are willing to look and grab it — but you have to be prepared to fail."
That's the journey to success....
If everything is always working out, you're not trying hard enough.
