Lucy and I went to a local spot, Las Trampas Regional Wilderness. I don't go here as often as I should (it is literally down the road from my house). We took the Elderberry Trail for an out and back 2.72 miles. This trail is pretty hilly but much of it is covered with our local oaks, maple, and buckeye. I just saw a post describing this trail as strenuous so now I feel a little better about the less than 3 miles kicking my 🐴 a bit😄.
I was interested in seeing the wildflowers and was pleased to see quite a few. The hills have lost most of their green by now so these little pops of color are even more of a delight. These [blown out ☀️🌞☀️] pics include Paintbrush, Monkey Flower, Lupine, Wild Daisies, Brass Buttons, and Thistle.
This trail does lead to the Rocky Ridge View Trail so you can hike a loop (6 miles maybe); I'll leave that for another day.
Im not sure if im having more fun taking the photo or editing it haha! What are your plans for this weekend? Sunday it's Balto's birthday! He is going to turn three 😭 he is growing way too fast! Dont tell him, but we are doing a suprise party with some insta friends! Cant wait! Anyone near Montreal that want to join us? DM me!
