What is one of Advanced Sommelier Emily Johnston's favorite wines of the moment? The Brander 2008 Sauvignon Cuvee Nicolas. "If you are looking for old vintage Santa Barbara wines, we are making a home for some local classics. Our friends at the Brander Vineyard have released to us a 2008 Cuvee Nicolas Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend. A 10 yr old white wine! Bordeaux has long aged their white wines of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon in cellars below their Chateaux, and so too, has Santa Barbara's original Bordeaux-style winemaker- though in small amounts. The aromas on this wine have matured to those of salted caramel, dried white fig, popcorn and honey. The body is full, waxy, and smooth. There is very little of this special wine in stock, so get it while it lasts." Want to try it for yourself? Just a few bottles will be available at Market Gusto, Tuesday, August 21st! We are over the moon that Brander Vineyard chose us to be the only retail shop to carry their vintage wines. Tickets are available now in store or on http://Nightout.com @emilyjohnstonwine @brandervineyard #sommlife#wineshop#santabarbarawine#vintagewine
Took a break from working today & wondered into the local #wineshop @little.mo.wine. What joy to see their pairing recommendations on the wall! Also great seeing their healthy selection of #Caribbean#rum ... @boukmanrhum in the house reppin #Haiti !
First foray into “orange wine”. Oranges have nothing to do with orange wine. Who would’ve thought. The orange shade is created when the skins and seeds of the grapes make contact with the juice. The nose on this is like floral and tropical citrus fruit. It also tastes so good. Thank you kind lady at @dandelionwineshop in Greenpoint for recommending 🙌
