Heerlijke aromatische geparfumeerde kwaliteit.
Oefening baart kunst.
“I kept coming back to this wine for its charm and perfume – it leapt out of the glass and had the most seamless, silky palate and gorgeous fruit saturation” – Emma Farrelly

🇦🇺 The Swan Valley’s Talijancich Wines have crafted an interesting, super delicious blend of Grenache and Shiraz (with a slight spritz) in their 2016 vintage Zabava. Served chilled, I think this is a perfect summer #wine ...light, bursting with fresh black cherry 🍒 , a touch of sweetness and lifted spice. Absolutely quaffable and quite unique. It’ll be hard to stop at one glass... 🍷🤭
Cheers @taliwines 👍🏼👌🏼

Books and travels are the best gift in my opinion it's health for your mind and feed your sense of creativity. I really love #winebooks ,indeed. I kind of travel through them and then the best part is : with one smell and a sip I get the chance to taste the "place". 🌎🍷🤓
2004 Ridge Monte Bello
76% Cabernet Sauvignon
8% Petit Verdot
3% Cabernet Franc
The Monte Bello vineyard was originally planted in 1886, high in the Santa Cruz Mountains at up to 850 metres above sea level. The first vintage followed in 1892. Not fully maintained during Prohibition period, the vineyard was abandoned by the 1940s. Cabernet Sauvignon was replanted in 1949 and this was the source of the first Ridge Monte Bello in the 1962. Since then, the original vineyards were gradually replanted. This iconic wine is one of the longest-lived Bordeaux blend made in California. Yields varies enormously based on the mountain climate.
Paul Draper has crafted 40+ vintages with an hands-off approach, he has been the chief winemaker at Ridge since 1969 (he retired in 2016). The 1971 Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon was selected to take part in the famous 1976 Judgement of Paris blind tasting that would pit the best of California wines against the best of France's wines. Draper describes the 1971 as the first vintage the wine (once a pure Cab Sauv) achieved balance with less sugar in the grapes prior to harvest and the benefit of Merlot/Petit Verdot/Cab Franc to add complexity. Fermented dry with extended skin contact, put through MLF and aged mainly in new small air-dried american oak barrels, the wine was expected to hit its peak after at least 6 years in the bottle
