#meetthemakerWW : Jean-Claude Mas is often described as one of the pioneers of the "New Languedoc" or the "Nouvelle Vague" of wine in France, one of those who work to restore its acclaim to a region where the culture of the vine goes back more than 2000 years. Currently he makes some of the best approachable wines on the market:, Jean Claude Mas Origines Cabernet, Chardonnay, Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc.
Mas was born in the heart of the Languedoc vineyards in the beautiful city of Pézenas. At the age of 3, during the harvest, he escaped the surveillance of his mother and ran 2.5 km to join his grandfather Raymond who worked the new wines in the cellar. This day was decisive and marked the rest of his life: his interest and his passion for wine were born!
At school and university, he decided to study economics and advertising, wine being a hobby. No matter where he lived: in the north of France (launching a wine club), in England (launching an import company of organic wines), or in Miami (assistant wine sales associate, food products and fashion), he has always kept in touch with his passion: wine. During his professional life, he devoted three years of his career to satisfy his second passion: rallies of cars and motorcycles, but soon he returned to the wine business.
Winemaker’s Dinner last night was a celebration of wine & food. You know when you taste a spoonful and then another one and then you take it slow cause you want it to last longer.. the joy, the sensation, the happiness... in every sip of our amazing wines & truly delicious food!

Eso es "Escondidinho". Un plato brasileño muy tipico hecho a base de carne seca y yuca. Ayer he llevado a mis amigos de la camara, para nuestra cena, este plato brasileño... con su receta tradicional. Tambien tuvimos muchas cosas riquisimas. Quiches, tabule, ensalada, lubina escabechada, steak tartar, y unas mollejas con reducción de balsamico. Estaba todo espetacular. Me dio pena no tener estomago suficiente para todo. Pero mil gracias a Jose Luis por abrir las puertas de su casa para estos momentos. Nuestro @vinalogos fue estupendo.
That is "Escondidinho". A very typical Brazilian dish made with dried meat and cassava. Yesterday I brought to my friends from the Madrid Chambers, for our dinner, this Brazilian dish ... with its traditional recipe. We also had many delicious things. Quiches, tabule, salad, pickled sea bass, steak tartar, and sweetbreads with balsamic reduction. It was all spectacular. I was sorry I did not have enough stomach for everything. But I would like to Thanks a lot to Jose Luis for opening the doors of his house for these moments. Our @vinalogos was amazing.
