My first Gaja tasting at the Valade & Transandine event ...9 wines presented by the beautiful Gaia Gaja, a woman taking over the House as the 5th generation with her sister and brother! Not only did she explained the fascinating story of millions of small individual decisions that lead to what we know today as one of most famous Wines of terroir in the whole world, but she also emphasized the permanent questionning process that underlies all great human adventures. She actually focused on the necessity of understanding the earth, facing the reality of climate change, stressing the threat of all type of monoculture, including our precious and beloved vine, for the biodiversity. In several occasions, she mentionned the idea of TIME and the need for us, human beings, to put ourselves aside the cycles of Nature... Yesterday, in each of the 9 glasses, I tasted the adolescence of the Earth and I made a trip to my own future, in two decades - a ridiculously short biological time indeed - ... Vintners, when they embrace the idea of humility and love of Nature, become small living gods on Earth, of that I am sure !! Creating, raising, trascending Space and Time... A simple “thank you” wouldn’t make it, but still! You make my committment and deep passion for this so meaningful and limitless profession more powerful! From left to right , up to down:

Like #AlphonseMucha was the artist, the 2016 La Posta Mendoza Malbec Pizzella #WineLabel is both complicated in detail, while maintaining purity of message. The #Malbec inside the bottle is the same, giving warm climate substance to high altitude character. Get this beauty by clicking the link in bio.
On this #winewednesday I wanted to highlight one of the #wineries we visited on our recent Napa trip.
@darioushwinery has such a unique & regal feel to it. Darioush Khaledi started #Darioush in 1997. He learned winemaking at an early age from his father, inspired by wine culture in the city of Shiraz - in modern day Iran - and the ancient city of Persepolis... hence the unique #architecture of the winery today! Their winemaking is Bordeaux-style & they are known for their big bold reds! If you plan to visit #SouthNapa , I highly recommend paying them a visit!
Part #StanLee , part #Lichtenstein , all refreshing #rosé . The 2017 Iconic Secret Identity California Dry Rosé #WineLabel looks as good as it tastes bringing aromatic, fresh stone fruit notes to a low alcohol sipper fit for waning days of summer. On first glance, the 2017 Vina Cobos Felino #CabernetSauvignon#WineLabel is simple with a striking font. But look closer, elevations around the label pay homage to the artwork of indigenous Argentinians who farmed the land that lead up to this complex #CabSauv . Tickets are still available for the 9/22 Paint & Sip. These are the wines that will be featured. The red is a Chilean Merlot and the white is a Non-Varietal from Portugal. Join us for a fun afternoon of painting, sipping, and networking. #LinkInBio 👆🏾
