Just one of those scenes...
If you did not know better, you would think this is a scene straight out of the zoo, but that is not the case. It is just one of those classic Kgalagadi scenes near a water hole. This one being an early morning one at Kij Kij where the Lion has eaten, the Jackals are clearly still hungry and egging him on to catch them something for them and the Oryx are just comfortably out of reach to be a able to drink in peace. The Painted Wolf
The African Wild Dog or Painted Wolf is notoriously hard to spot, let alone catch doing absolutely nothing. Imagine our luck when this one, tired of his constant activity, lay down on the road near our car!
What do you think of this photo?
Happy World Gorilla day to all! ⠀
Gorillas are some of our closest relatives in the wild, but they are the most critically endangered species in the wild. They need protection. ⠀
Compared to humans, gorillas do not have very expressive faces, but they do communicate emotions to others in the family group through body language and vocalizations. ⠀
Being passionate about these mighty apes and having been there several times, it is intriguing everytime to me to look at our closest relatives in the wild. ⠀
Thank you friends and family to have given an opportunity to take you to visit these beings. I shall continue doing it for the people to understand them closely. ⠀
One of our absolute favourite spots in Kruger is the bridge over the Luvuvhu River in the Pafuri region in the most Northern part of the park. Here, lying flat on my tummy on the bridge (between the yellow lines) shooting up at this magnificent creature as the light caught its colossal frame, while it was giving us the beady eye, was a special moment. One of many up there. With @christagoosen #Wildography
