This platform is the best thing that could’ve been put there not only because it sets you right at the top of the falls, but also because you can take a quick breather from the straight uphill walking.
To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all. - Oscar Wilde. I seriously want to change this and help as many people as I can in my life to find fullness of life. Why only live for@the weekend when you can live everyday! PS this is an old photo from last year, I have loads of new photos I’m currently editing and will be working into my feed soon.
Isle Royale sunset at Lane Cove.
Missing this sacred place so much. I can’t hide it, it’s been really hard to be back ‘home’. I’m finding myself to be a bit depressed. When people ask me how the trip was tears literally well up in my eyes because it was so great and I’m so sad it’s over. For the past 5 months almost everything I did had been for this trip; acquiring gear, working out, researching and planning; it all lead to this amazing adventure. I am so grateful for the experience, but I am already yearning to do more. See, my true Home is here in Nature. She calls to me, to the wild woman within me. Surrounded by trees and lakes and animals, journeying on my own two feet; there is such a peace within that simple solitude. But simple living is not easy; is it very challenging, both physically and mentally. You must dig deep within yourself to forge on, no matter the conditions. Being in the backcountry is hard, but so spiritually rewarding. It is such a reprieve from being caged by walls, screens, and machines. No mindless chatter. But my Home is also with the ones I love. (I missed my son immensely.) If only I could have my loves with me always and live out of backpacks traveling for the rest of our days...or most of them. Maybe one day. But it’s about the journey right? There will be more adventuring. Now, where to next...?
PS: The trees on the island are unlike that of any other. Larry and I were trying to come up with a good description for them...all I can say is they’re more wildernessy lol.
