GR5 Day 5. From Samoens to wildcamp at Lac du Anterne. A nice start to the day with a flat and shady 5 km walk along the banks of the river Giffre. Having done 5 km in the first hour clearly today I was going to arrive at my destination early. Then I began to climb. It started to become quite steep, and then just got very steep. This can't last forever I thought, and indeed after 5 1/2 hours of brutal climbing it got a bit flatter. The trail was up through a heavily wooded gorge and up around the top of the hill in the boiling sun. However, I then came out into probably the archetypal high alpine valley (Collet du Anterne), with immense cliffs and scree slopes to the right side and a wooded section in the middle, complete with river and wooden bridge. Mont Blanc was to be seen at the top of the valley, had there not been heavy cloud there. I walked past the lovely looking Chalets du Anterne and went up for another very tough ascent to the Lac du Anterne. This was a steep ascent up a sharp slate hill, which then lead into the hills before turning a corner and opening out above the lake. After a very hard day of walking I pitched my tent near a stunning alpine lake with amazing views of La Montagne d'Anterne behind it. Well worth the pain although I didn't realise it was possible to sweat as much as I did today. 7 3/4 hours, 27 km.
These will be up on my site next, danglers with either a 1" solid brass loop or swivel trigger clip. Available in brown or black leather with your choice of thread color. They'll be $15 each or $28 for a pair. 🙌👍
So our beloved campervan is going. We are selling him. He has lovingly been called Bob but he is ready to go. We've made lots of lovely memories with him and of course our beloved GSD Ben. It's seen us through lots of adventures, some long adventures and some very small ones. Like shooting off to Keswick for the night, going to the Theatre by the Lake then wild camping for the night after a few beers. But we are getting older and want a bit more comfort so are getting a more luxurious motor home. Can't wait. I will put our new adventures on insta. But for the moment I will reminisce about Bob. #campervan#camping#sellingcampervan#holidays#wildcamp#wildcampinguk

I skipped past seal coating these sheathes, it's fiddly and hard to capture. However, we gotta have the MOST IMPORTANT PART on video. You know, the tag. 😂🤣 This is the end of the road for these sheathes. Stick around, we're working on other things already!
My etsy store is back up! (Link in profile) I've been putting it off... trying to figure out customization options, new photos, shipping, and everything else... but I simply had to buckle down and get it finished. My axes will continue to be on commission and whatnot through here for the time being. •
I'm transitioning to a proper "made to order" format with a 1-2 week turnaround. When you go to an item you can pick thread color and all of the available extras for each product. I'll have 3.5" axe sheathes on there once I've found my photos, with belts to follow in the next week or so. You can also get left-handed sheathes/masks and black leather as well, just request it!
Thanks for sticking around for all of my shenanigans. Now go order something so I can get back to "work"!
