It is said that our running shoes are really erasers. That every step erases some past failure. That every mile brings us closer to a clean slate. That each foot strike rubs away a word, a look, or an event which led us to believe that success was beyond our grasp. (John Bingham)
Well I guess I've had some stubborn events in my life that are pretty gnarly. These are my erasers from the past few years. And the last ones pictured wore the longest. They knew that they still had lots of scrubbing to do. The marks of the past don't easily go. I got a good 880 miles with these friends.
I went out for a long run last week knowing that time was drawing short. I was hoping that I could crest 1k with them but was realistic in knowing that all the others had died before 550 miles. I'd been blessed with more than 300 extra miles. I got home and looked them over because my foot had started to blister and I saw that they'd passed on in the middle of the run and I didn't notice when but they still carried me home. Good times and hard times were passed in those shoes. And like a best friend they were there by my side each time. I could count on them to help me whenever I asked. Slowly I erased a little here and there of past experiences. But more than anything they helped me erase the daily addition to those fears and stresses and keep them from growing ever larger.
5 years and 5 pairs. 1 pair was actually stolen from me last Christmas. So I have some MIAs in my history. :) But this is the end of the Saucony kinvara4's, the end of an era, a dynasty. Now to find another pair of shoes worthy to be the successors.
RIP my good friends.
Mak acah2 ibu2 sporty.
Mmg kegemaran suka sneakers, kunun2 fit!
Mmg buat masa skang ni @brooksrunning kegemaran mak, selesa nak matih!
Tidak sia2 pelaburan mak
Klu la ada yg full black design da mak sebat 1 buat kasut kije!
Semasa dlm pemilihan kasut ni, staff dia abes kaji kasut dan kaki mak. Samada kaki kau ini #higharches / #fallenarches / #widefeet / #neutral
Sungguh2 dia tgk bentuk kaki kau dan dia suggest
"What your feet NEED" not "What you WANT"
Berdasarkan dari kaji selidik tu takdi #ahhhhgitewww
Lepas tu it's not end there, mereka juga bg kau test power tiap kasut, bg pakai 1/2 jam max to try their shoes. Jadi idaklah kamu buat keputusan terburu2.. Disebabkan itu, mak da siap pakai berlari 50meter ulang alik baru bole piker nak beli ke idak.
Walopon katanya running shoes, mak ape kesah? Konsep dia #asele (asal selesa). Mmg ni kegemaran mak bile berjalan.. .
Jangan tanya why asek2 kasut kaler pepel ni je mak asik peragakan, sebab mak masih tggu @daniadzulkafli post 10 kasut utk mak.

Today our usual Sunday errands included an extra special stop - heading to our local shoe store for @marchese437 to get some new kicks! 👟
Shoe shopping has always been a drag for Mike. He has wide feet and low arches, and standard shoes carried by the big box stores just don’t have what he needs! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today, Mike chatted with a knowledgeable salesperson about his concerns, comfort level, etc. and was met with total care! They watched and filmed Mike walking with his new shoes to assess for pronation or misalignment before sending us on our way. Mike’s new shoes are a perfect fit for his feet! And they have a KILLER satisfaction policy, just in case! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today was absolutely an investment, and I promise we didn’t just “find” money to pay for these (side note - if anyone knows how to just find money laying around let me know! 🤣). For the past few months we browsed to get an idea of the potential cost, and then cut down on our spending with coffee shops, groceries, and date nights. These shoes will TOTALLY improve Mike’s quality of life, so I’m all about it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
