Over the last year, it has transformed into something I genuinely love to do & is growing faster than I ever expected. Hello my dear sweet potatoes 💗I hope your Tuesday was wonderful! I’ve got quite a lot done and it’s not stopping there; I’ve got to prepare for the next two long late shifts and then going out on Friday night with my friends right after work😁😅anywayz I just want to really emphasise how much I feel more energised now I’ve made the effort to have more fat in every meal. Contrary to popular belief, more fat DOESNT make you fat. If anything, it helps keep you satisfied and therefore stopping ‘overeating’. It’s vital for certain vitamins and minerals to be absorbed correctly, as well as helping with hormonal balance and the health of your hair, skin and nails. I genuinely used to count how many nuts I’d have in a day; making sure my fat was as low as possible. Reading labels of food was a nightmare... as soon as the fat content was in the orange category I’d get scared and be way less likely to eat it. Because fat is demonised so much. But I’m living, breathing proof that upping your intake will benefit you if you seem to need it; if your body is craving fat, or any nutrient for that matter, please honour it. Don’t compare your intake or amounts to anyone else as we are all individuals who have different needs. Nourish your body and show it some love, you deserve it as much as your body does. Live freely and eat in abundance. Food is the medicine. Life is just way too short to measure your peanut butter yano? I love you all and I hope you’re all smiling 💗💖🌈💕✨

Quick update on my daily eating habits/schedule: I eat 3 smaller meals during the day one at 6:30am, 10:30am, 2:30-3pm & one bigger meal “my dinner” whenever I’m hungry (around 6-8pm). I usually do not eat cooked foods till dinner time, that’s when my body craves it. During the day I only eat raw foods🥭🥕🍓🥑🥒 This works for me but everybody is different! Slice 4 cremini mushrooms. Sauté in a pan over medium heat with 1 clove of minced garlic until, 1 tsp soy sauce + 1/2 tsp sesame oil until water has released and evaporated from the mushrooms. Going low waste in the bathroom is pretty easy🌿

I think my first ever change was swapping shower gel for bar soaps. This has not only advantages waste wise, I think it also looks so much prettier to have a collection of beautiful soaps than a shower full of plastic bottles 😊 Also, you can use up little soap bits in a little sisal bag, which also doubles as a nice peeling.

I love how the “health & fitness” is based on looking freaking shredded to the bone, where there’s actually (close to) nothing healthy about it. Besides all the so called “IG fitness models” who claim natural while they are not, let me tell you why besides being too fat, even the super lean extreme is unhealthy, and shouldn’t be a realistic & sustainable goal for anyone.

Have you ever tried dieting to very low levels of bodyfat? Well, that’s the point where hormones don’t work properly, where you have zero energy all day long, you’re moody, you’re veeeery hungry, you can’t lift as heavy as you should, and if you go to the squat rack... yeah that’s where you feel your joints feeling somewhat weaker than usual.
And while that’s something to “expect” and the normality for those who constantly compete, why is that actually pushed as “healthy”?

I mean, yeah, I myself preach aesthetics, but that shouldn’t be the definition of what is “healthy”.
Some bodyfat is essential, and a good amount more of it is REQUIRED to stay healthy and make bodily things work properly. This is why the strongest & healthy people are not the most shredded.

Does this mean you should never look to get into contest shape or to the leanest version of yourself? Hell no, I’m the first one who preaches going beyond your limits, and you obviously shouldn’t use this to procrastinate on your fat loss goal.. however, if we’re talking about what’s healthy and what’s not, I gotta say what’s needed to be said.

⚡️ Reading this quote really changed my perspective on so many things. Although we may think that all the little and annoying things in life seem extremely important, in the grand scheme of things they are far from even being mildly important.
🌈 Whether it’s exams, your job, your instagram account or literally anything else you are struggling with right now - just know that those things will not affect you in the long run and absolutely everything will pass. You will constantly be going from one struggle and hurdle to the next without even thinking about the real scope of your stress, but for what reason? Why waste all that time and energy? Why should you spend your life searching for superficial things which do it matter, so that before you know it life has slipped past you and you’ve missed out on many of its wonders and opportunities?
💙 I want to make sure I focus on what really matters in life - which for me personally is family, self love, mental and physical health, exploration and fulfilment. I want to reevaluate my aims and prioritise to make sure I live my life to its fullest without wasting one precious moment on this beautiful earth!

The red sauce is so simple but such a great flavor - ginger, scallions, Tamari and crushed red tomatoes 🍅 - and sautéing the zucchini noodles in this gives them an awesome flavor.

My decision to go vegan came about as I was reading The China Study. This book shares a lot of compelling evidence for following a low-fat, high-carb plant-based diet 🌱 (also known as whole-foods plant-based) to prevent chronic disease & achieve optimum health. Waaaait... carbs aren’t the devil?! 🤔 If you’re on the fence about veganism and worried about protein/nutrient deficiencies, I highly recommend this read 📖 About today’s smoothie... secret ingredient = PURPLE CAULIFLOWER!!! Twice baked potatoes with a huge salad (romaine lettuce + shredded carrots + roasted chickpeas) and a tomato "sauce" for a dressing (which was a mix of tomato paste + maple syrup + distilled vinegar). This meal was EPIC 👌😋✨ For the potatoes; first I baked them in the oven whole for 35 minutes at 225C. Then took them out and cut them all in half, and popped them back into the oven for another 35-40 minutes at 225C, until they were perfectly crispy 😍
For the chickpeas; I took a can of chickpeas, drained/rinsed them, then put them into a small bowl, and sprinkled them with cinnamon powder + sea salt, and mixed it well. Then poured the chickpeas onto my baking tray lined with parchment paper, and popped them into the oven with the potatoes (at same temp) for the last 20 minutes. 😁🙌

Savoury Chickpea Pancakes! Historically, I have really bad luck with chickpea flour, but I wasn't about to give up, and this morning it paid off, when I successfully made a savoury chickpea pancake for breakfast, with onion, spinach, and red cabbage, and topped with a nice spicy mustard! I feel like this could be the start of something new, what else can you guys recommend for me to make with chickpea flour now that I'm amazing at it?

I eat a green salad every day, but I would never consider it an entree (and neither should you)!⁣

Things I've noticed when people eat only salad for lunch:⁣

1. They are starving by the time they come home and liable to overeat at supper. ⁣
⁣
2. They derive little satisfaction from their meal (since they are eating the same thing every damn day!) and start looking for something sweet and tasty to satisfy their cravings. ⁣
⁣
Remember, satiety means that we feel full PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY!⁣
⁣
So, what should you eat with your salad? Some of my favourites are:⁣

- Bean Soup⁣
- Tofu/Tempeh Sandwich⁣
- Seitan Roast⁣

Hey guys! Sorry I’ve been MIA! My birthday being this week kept me out of the kitchen a lot. BUT, I had a lot of fun and am getting back into a normal routine. Here’s a really simple bowl I made with some leftover red curry, quinoa, kale and cashews 😌 Sunday’s are my chill days, so I might take a lil nap and then tidy up the house and get some cinnamon-apple wax cubes lit in here 😏Hope you all have a lovely Sunday ❤️✨
