My snack from yesterday afternoon 🥒🍎 I wasn't feeling too hungry but needed a quick healthy snack around 4:30 before picking up Sadie from daycare. I haven't had an apple in a long time but it hit the spot! I dipped the apple slices in the protein spread I've been making and it was delicious 😋 I'll definitely have this snack again!

As a side note, I think strawberries dipped in this protein spread would taste amazing so that may be coming up!! 🍓🍓🍓

This hot weather calls for some ice-cream cookie sandwiches! Vanilla ice-cream sandwiched between two chocolatey chip cookies and then rolled in a generous helping of Vegnola! We love adding Vegnola anywhere we can because it adds light delicious flavour, fibre and healthy fats! And that crunch can't be beat 👌

Delicious Choc Vanilla Slice ✨ One of my all-time favorites! Are you a vanilla or chocolate person? I kinda am both - that’s why these are perfect for me 😛👆🏻 Resharing the recipe below in case you missed it last time 😘

CREAM:
3 cups soaked cashews
1 cup melted cacao butter
1 cup maple syrup
1.5 cup plantbased milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 tbsp cacao 
BASE:
1 cup dates
3/4 cup nuts (in my case ground hazelnuts)
1/2 cup oat flour
4 tbsp cacao powder 
A pinch of pink salt

👉🏻 Combine the ingredients for the base in your food processor until you're left with a sticky dough. Press down evenly in a lined rectangular dish. Blend all ingredients for the cream except the cacao until smooth. Spoon some of the mixture into a separate bowl and continue blending - add in the cacao now for the second layer. Pour the vanilla cream onto you base and freeze for an hour to set before pouring on the chocolate layer. Garnish with your favorite toppings (I just used some of the cream and left it in the fridge so it could harden before piping it on) and store in the fridge before serving. Enjoy! 🍫

Good morniiiiiing!! 💗 What are you having for brekki today? 😍
I haven't had oats in probably over 7 months. The main reason I stopped eating them was because I started eating more protein & fat rich breakfasts. That switch helped me stay fuller and incorporate blood sugar balancing macronutrients. Oats,  even tho they are a good food may spike our blood sugar and leave us with more cravings later in a day. Since going #glutenfree oats definitely became history, however, I started craving them yesterday. Most likely because I only got 4 hours of sleep the night before, was exhausted and my body was giving me hints. So last night I whipped up some overnight oats by mixing the right ingredients to balance things out:
1 cup gluten free oats
1.5 cup Macadamia milk
1/2 mashed banana
1 tsp cinnamon
2 servings Collagen peptides 
Topped with some caco nibs, walnuts, coconut shreds and nut butter. There was no way I could finish the entire bowl 😂. xoxox .

Eggplant Mozzarella w/ Grilled Chicken Breast: You have to try this recipe as a side for one of your entrees, even if you don’t pair it with chicken like I did here. Its so easy to make and reminds me of old-school home-cooked Italian meals with the fam. Eggplant benefits listed 👇🏼.

Ingredients: 1 Eggplant, 3 oz Fresh Mozzarella, 2 cups Marinara Sauce, 3-5 Basil Leaves

Steps:
1. Slice eggplant into 1/2” pieces, and sprinkle with black peppercorn and a little Himalayan or Celtic sea salt. Cut mozzarella into 1 oz slices.
2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
3. Lightly grill eggplant on both sides
4. Put Eggplant in pan and place 1 oz slices of cheese, 2 tbsp marinara, and 1 basil leaf on each piece.
5. Bake in oven for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted.

✅Nutrient dense and high fiber in very few calories
✅May reduce risk of heart disease by lowering LDL levels and triglycerides (both are blood markers that can lead to increased risk).

another day, another peach recipe! these are actually back by popular demand 😎 i was asked so many times to repost these from last year so naturally they are making a comeback! think: fluffy muffin with sweet, refreshing bits of peach and an antiinflammatory punch of ginger 👊🏽

🍑Ginger Peach Muffins
1 1/2c almond flour
2tbsp coconut flour
1/2tsp baking soda
1/4tsp cinnamon
1/2tsp ground ginger
1/2tsp fresh grated ginger
3 eggs, room temp
1/3c coconut oil, melted & cooled
1/4c honey
2tsp vanilla
1/2c grated carrots
1c diced peaches (about 1 med peach)
How To: preheat oven to 350. Take out eggs. Line muffin tin with 10 muffin liners. In medium bowl, whisk all dry ingredients. In seperate bowl, whisk all wet ingredients. Slowly add wet ingredients to dry. Fold in carrots and peaches. Spoon into prepared muffin tins. Bake 20-25 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean, or until tops are golden brown. It is so so easy to get sucked into a world of comparison, especially during this day in age where we broadcast everything and anything on instagram. I’m takin’ these good feelings and rollllllin’ with it 🤷🏼‍♀️

It is classified as a nootropic due to it sensitizes neurons as well as providing mental stimulation (Examine). Caffeine works by antagonizing (acts against/blocks) adenosine receptors in the brain.  Adenosine is what causes relaxation and sedation.  Consumption of caffeine helps prevent adenosine and thus increase ones alertness.

✅HOW MUCH TO TAKE?  The typical dosing for athletes is set at 4-6mg/kg of bodyweight.  Therefore, a 150lb person would = 272mg - 408mg per day.  Likewise, a 200lb individual could consume anywhere from 360mg - 540mg.  Starting with a mild dose of 100-200mg has still shown to have positive effects on thermogenic properties.  Higher doses of caffeine can effect ones mood and overall cognitive performance.  The Institute of Medicine noted that one should not be exceeding doses or daily intake of 600mg per day (Institute of Medicine 2001). However, its extremely important to test YOUR tolerance and find what works best for YOU.
