#whatsinmybowl ➡️ 1 cup frozen cauliflower rice (I love the bulk bags from Costco!) sautéed in toasted sesame oil with a little onion, garlic, red pepper and coconut aminos (an awesome soy sauce alternative and super source of minerals!) i then made a little basket in the center of the cast iron skillet for an egg. Top with everything but the bagel seasoning (@traderjoes) and scramble it in with the rest of the veggies! Add in a little salt to taste if you wish and wa-la! This would also make a great dinner with pastured chicken or grass-fed beef!

Eating breakfast and drinking my lemon water at home today instead of running out of the house like a maniac. Already feeling like I’m winning at life. Egg bakes are such a time saver. It’s a complete breakfast in one rectangle that heats up in the microwave in 90 seconds.⏱

Breakfast bake made with sliced sweet potato crust, eggs, coconut milk, Whole 30 bacon, caramelized onions, and roasted Brussels. So yummy! Quarter of a large avocado on the side and pumpkin spice Bulletproof coffee. -
For the bulletproof, I used Ronnie’s tip ( @primal_gourmet ) and blended it all in a wide mouth mason jar with an immersion blender. Mine went flying out of a pint size, so I think I’ll try again tomorrow with quart size. Minus the spillage it mixes so well, so fast, so frothy and what’s easier than cleaning an immersion blender wand?🤔

Pineapple blueberry smoothie: 1/2 cup each frozen pineapple, blueberry and 1 banana w/ a splash of OJ eaten from a bowl bc it’s so thick and creamy and then you can top it with paleo granola and/or coconut and more frozen fruit because it tastes delicious! 🍓 
Also-  you should definitely consider adding a scoop of your favorite collagen peptides...I’ve been using @vitalproteins for a while and enjoy the unflavored version for skin, hair, nail and joint support!

My ideal first sip of anything in the morning is usually warm lemon water or acv lemon water. but this week I’ve been mixing it up for the with an easy blender celery juice made with apple, lemon + ginger. Just the smell of it excites me! It’s intoxicating and anti-inflammatory and the lemon juice makes it really quite zippy! Just make sure you strain the liquid from the blender with a pair of fine mesh strainers, cheesecloth or a nut milk bag!

Greek chicken sheet pan dinner from @laughingspatula was a hit last night! I added a green bell pepper and a can of @traderjoes artichoke hearts (sliced in half), plus I subbed boneless skinless chicken thighs for breasts. It was so juicy and flavorful!

Today’s tip of the #Whole3030Days30tips series is one that I think a lot of us learn after our second or third round. I’m sharing it with you now because I think it’s important to be aware of this, even if this is your first whole30.⠀

Larabars, RX bars, R bars, the lemon Epic bar,..all  of these bars are fantastic and yes while they may be whole 30 they can be problematic. They can cause you to create habits that you don’t need, they may stand in as substitutions for habits you’re trying to break. For example let’s say you have a mean sweet tooth and you find yourself reaching for a Larabar or RX bar every night after dinner. Yes it’s compliant so you’re good right?!?⠀
⠀
That’s wrong because you’re not redefining your relationship with food, instead you’re just creating a substitute. While in some cases substitutions are ok, but in this scenario if you’re finding yourself treating these bars as dessert, it might be time to reevaluate. ⠀
⠀
So please be aware of using these on a round. There is nothing wrong with reaching for one of these every so often. But if you find yourself having one every single day you might need to stop, take a step back and and reevaluate. ⠀

I am always upfront honest about the fact that up until my fifth round of whole30 I would eat a Larabar every single day. It took me that long because I told myself oh no I don’t treat them as dessert. But if you’re eating one every single day and you look forward to it maybe you are treating it as dessert. Of course this is me and my experience but I’m sharing it with you guys because I know I want not the only one thats been in that boat.

The past few months have been tough. I had a bad cold that has basically snowballed into a whirlwind of binging on comfort foods and holiday indulgences, and I lost all motivation to workout. Dinner tonight is a variation on ratatouille.  I remember making this on my first attempt at The Whole 30.  It instantly became my favorite!  While I haven’t made it in awhile, I’m glad that I remembered I could do it again.  Definitely what I needed after my long day.

Tonight I threw into my @instantpotofficial: a butternut squash (peeled and diced), 3 small Granny Smith apples (diced), 2 carrots (peeled and diced), a diced onion, a million cloves of smashed garlic, fresh sage, fresh rosemary, smoked paprika, and 4 cups of @traderjoes vegetable stock. I cooked it on high pressure for 10 minutes, did a manual release, then blitzed it all up with my immersion blender. Once it was smooth, I added in a few cups of diced leftover chicken until warmed through. YUM!

Trying to come up with fun ways to remake our Thanksgiving leftovers ☺️ Since it was just the two of us, there’s still TONS! After a wonderful holiday weekend with family it time to get back basics and what a better way to start than a #whole30reset ? Monday through Friday this week I will be eating following the #whole30 guidelines. Thanksgiving is the kick off to the holiday season in my book. It’s a time for gratitude. A time for family. A time for friends. It can also be a time of heart break. The remembrance of the loved ones we’ve lost too soon. The reminder of all the things you have but also the things/people you don’t. I love taking “stock” of the things I’m grateful for, so that I can truly enjoy my holiday. 
For this holiday, I’m thankful for the life I’ve been given and the opportunities that have been placed in my path. I’m thankful for the people in my life that consistently support me and lift me up. I’m thankful for my health and my capabilities. I’m thankful that I live in a world where I have choices. I’m thankful of the faith that was instilled upon me at a young age.
