I feel like I'm finally coming out of the postpartum survival mode, it's been a wonderful and rough 2 months!
I've been wanting to do a Whole30 reset for awhile now and I finally feel like I have the time and mental capacity to do so!
Here are two of my meals from #day1 of #Whole30 .
Scrambled eggs with sausage over a bed of spinach with sautéed sweet potatoes
Grass fed burger topped with sautéed mushroom
Salad with peppers, spinach, romaine and tomatoes and mashed sweet potatoes with ghee
I’m not sure if I’m doing a mini reset or a full #whole30 yet. After EATING ALL THE FOOD on vacation I feel 🤢. Yesterday was almost day 1 until I realized I used a sugar loaded creamer in my coffee. Don’t worry I got rid of it (by drinking it all 😪). #whole30life#whole30resetday1#whole30reset
Here we have Folgers with some @nutpods French Vanilla and #vitalproteins Collagen next to my one egg scramble mixed with chopped cauli-rice and sweet potatoes covered in a little medium salsa.
🇬🇧 #whole30results : I lost 5.5 lb,
arms: - 0.6 inches,
chest: - 1. 6 in,
waist: - 1.8 in,
belly: - 2 in,
hips: 0.8 in,
thigh: - 1.2 in
I wanna say that I QUIT drinking Coke after 36 years and I'm so proud of it! I feel much better because I don't have stomachaches anymore, my gastritis seems to be gone for good. My skin is better too, even my mood and PMS are a lot better.
Today I start #whole30reintroduction and I'll be back in 3 days to tell you how I feel, thanks for all the support and love I've been receiving from you guys, it means A LOT to me! ❤️
As a person who likes to eat out frequently (#foodie 😛) I was glad to take a break from my home cooking and eat a #Whole30 compliant meal from @zoeskitchen ! Chicken kebabs with potato salad and grilled veggies 🍢🥙🥔 Lesson learned on #Day5ofWhole30 : Eat MORE food throughout the day to keep full and satiated! #whole30newbie 👶🏽 If you guys have any suggestions on whole 30 or paleo friendly restaurants in #Houston or #thewoodlandstx area, please let me know! 😊
It was a busy evening & I’m so glad I had food I could easily throw together for dinner when I got home at 8 pm. Rotisserie chicken I grabbed at Sprouts yesterday (to tie us over until I could get back in the swing of things after vaca) topped with Franks hot sauce, the roasted potatoes I made earlier this morning while making lunch, & salad with chopped carrots and peppers & topped with @primalkitchenfoods dressing. Took less than 5 minutes to prepare and it was so satisfying. #whole30#whole30reset#whole30madeeasy#paleo#eatclean#cleaneating#wholefood#eatyourveggies#easymeals#homemademeals
I think what I’m enjoying so much about #Whole30 is that it has Eliminated (like... poof— gone!) my food anxiety. I haven’t formally measured, I haven’t tracked, I haven’t weighed after a meal or before or the next morning to see if the food “stuck” to me or not. Just focusing on whole ingredients is all I’ve done. This plate is a rare meal w/o greens because I only had enough left for lunch today. When my body is full I stop. It’s been a relief for my mind like I can’t even tell you. •
Not all of my cooking experiments work out, and sometimes I surprise myself with how tasty a new preparation is. Today, I marinated some thinly sliced pork chops in coconut aminos, breaded them in almond flour, and pan fried them. The almond flour burned a little bit, so my expectations were low when I went to take my first bite. This was so delicious! I'm going to play around with this a bit, and write up the recipe for the blog. Maybe try a different flour or potato starch? We'll see.
I think what really made these pork chops so flavorful was the topping. Which was just a sliced jalapeños and scallions cooked in a tablespoon or so of coconut aminos. The coconut aminos thickened into a tasty syrup, and brought something special. I added the hot sauce before trying this because I add it to everything. The pork chops did not need it! The jalapeño brought a little spice, so I should have skipped the Valentina this meal. .
Aside from marinating time, this meal was done in 20 minutes. And the meat only was in the marinade for 45 minutes or so because I came home from work starving, and didn't want to wait to start cooking. That was plenty of time to get some flavor in the pork since it was cut so thin. .
Can't wait to make this meal again!
D3M1: fast, easy breakfast: bulletproof coffee made with vanilla lemon nutpods, collagen peptides, and coconut oil and a good ol trusty @larabar ! (I rarely use these as a meal but today I needed something quick before the gym) #whole30#whole30alumni#whole30life#whole30reset
I started #Whole30 today! So far so good 😊 I even made my own almond milk #callmechefalready hehehe👩🏽🍳I’ll probably be documenting on this account since I gotta hold myself accountable! I guess the reason I’m doing this #whole30challenge is to majorly clean up my eating and to have some sort of discipline. I dunno about u but I LOVE to eat out 🍲🍛🍣🍔and I’m a rice-addict lollol 🍚🍚🍚. So yeaaaaaaa wish me luck 😬😬😬😬 #day1ofwhole30
Leftovers with a refresh. The asparagus and the chicken seemed a little too oily so I added arugula, green goddess dressing, and roasted peppers. Bitter, sweet, salty, fatty. Yumm. #whole30#whole30day3#whole30reset
A #slowcookersunday favourite - pulled pork with @thedefineddish barbecue sauce. Also featuring a mini dipping bowl of garlic mayo, because why wouldn’t you want to make sweet potato fries even better?
