Vegan cheesecake 🤤. So the last few days have been intense. I’m trying to close 2018 on a positive foot. Leaving things that don’t serve me anymore. Today is all for groceries, cleaning and cleansing the house. Happy sunday 🦋🌵🧘🏼♀️
1. 🏃♀️Today’s workout: Our usual Saturday morning fitness class with a mile run and abs workout at the end! I am a terrible runner (I’m a steady 10 minute mole runner) and have had lots of problems every time I try to run more. However, I have now experienced some unexpected results of my stronger legs and improved cardio after all of these classes! I was able to run our finisher mile at a 7:57 pace - which is unusually fast for me. Also, this picture weirdly shows how imbalanced my legs still are (although I’m hoping the angle of the picture or my lose is affecting it) - and is a good reminder that I still need to strengthen up my left leg!
2. I did something else unusual today - I cooked a nice dinner and we had some friends over! I tried to eat less before dinner since I knew I was making a lot, but the snacks still found their way in there.
3-4. I spent the most time making this Porchetta-style roast pork shoulder and it was worth it! Look at that sizzle! Looking forward to eating the leftovers :D
One of my favorite pizza places ever...and it’s local! Brandon and I had a night out since he will be leaving Friday to spend his Christmas break with his dad. Tivoli’s serves up an authentic Italian pie with their wood-fired oven, and fresh ingredients. Their antipasto salad with homemade Italian dressing, polpette (meatballs) served in house made sauce with ricotta and fresh basil are two of my favorite starters. The Carnivore is B’s favorite pizza...I go for the Quattro Gusti (mozzarella, fresh mushrooms, Parma cotto and artichoke hearts). Everything is absolutely delicious! 😍🍕
Even animal activists need to have a little fun sometimes ⬇️
If you want to let loose a little, come join us this Sunday (tomorrow) at Blu House Cafe in Deep Cove at 10am. After a quick dip in the water, we’ll head back to Blu House for some delicious vegan food 🌱

~ Felt pretty stuffed from lunch so had scrambled eggs, yellow pepper + 1/2 @icelandfoods white bloomer bread which is so nice and thick + a really easy way of making quick garlic bread - toast it + add garlic oil/powder/rub a garlic clove with butter on it lol + add dried herbs and boom 💥 —————

운동을 하면서 그냥 누워있고. 하다 말고. 설렁설렁 하고.
몸은 움직이고싶은데, 하기싫어서 울 뻔했다.
그래서 그냥 멈췄다.
- 단백질먹고 운동해보려고 흑임자선식 먹음.
배가 참. 몸 무겁고, 신물 올라오고, 구역질 남
- 어떤 동작을 하던 뒷골이 당겨 머리까지 아픔.
- 복근부터 자극점을 다 잃어버려서 노잼.
- 몸에 힘이 안들어가고 들이고싶지도 않음.
→운동보다 잠을 우선으로.
→배부르고 운동하지 말자.
→운동 도중 멈추고, 목 스트레칭 해주기.
→과정이야. 찾는 도중에도 얻는 게 있을 거야.
모든 운동의 '전체 달성도'에 집착했다.
'오늘 딱히 안 힘들었지만 2시간 했으니 잘했어.'
운동하면서 남은 시간을 계속 체크하며 언제 끝나지. 라는 생각만 했다.
하는 도중에 내 몸이 단련되는거고 만들어지는 건데 과정을 중요히 생각 안했다.
운동은 훈련이고. 수련이고.
내 몸을 다스리고 만져주는 건데.
마음을 놓았다. 전체를 완주하려는 생각을 버리고. 한동작을 천천히 정확하게 하려 했다.
그러자 어느새 운동이 끝나있었다.
이번 주는 완전 망했다. 자제가 안된다.
유지어터도 이렇게 먹으면 찔텐데 다이어터가 무슨 생각이었는 지.
왜 맨날 이렇게 후회하고 또 먹나.

No workout today - I almost tried to do something but my legs are still super tired and I think having a good rest day is important. It’s hard to capture everything I eat when we get hot pot, but I guess you can assume that I ate plenty 😋. I also baked some simple shortbread cookies, so of course I had to eat a couple.

Did you know the egg you will eat for breakfast this morning most likely came from a hen who spent her life cramped in a cage the size of an iPad? More than 90 per cent of Canada’s 26 million egg-laying hens are kept in small, cramped “battery” cages. Each cage holds around six hens, giving each hen less space than an average piece of writing paper to live her entire life. Most hens will also have their beaks partially sliced off without anesthesia when they are a few days old to control the aggressive behaviours that can evolve as a result of the stress of intensive confinement. If you think that buying free range eggs is the solution to this cruelty, you are being mislead. Free range does not mean green grass and sunshine. It means life confined in an over crowded factory farm shed. Google it if you don’t believe me. .
I took this video last year at an egg laying display at the PNE put on by Eggs Farmers of Canada. She was forced to stand on this wired floor all day long in a cage cramped with about 15 others, as people made noise, yelled, and shoved cameras in her face. This egg laying display is all propaganda disguised as "education" by the organization. Interesting that they wanted to educate consumers on the egg industry but failed to mention anywhere on their display that male chicks are legally ground up alive soon after birth as they are deemed useless to the egg industry, or the fact that battery hens are legally only given the living space the size of an iPad. Please don't support these cruel industries that take sentient beings and turn them into nothing but a egg laying machines. Put yourself in her place and all of a sudden eating a plant based diet doesn't seem so crazy does it? 🌱🤔
