This time of year is soooo busy am i right?!?! As much as i love the craziness of the christmas build up and the excitement of this time of year, it is so important to take time away from work for yourself and your friends/family/loved ones. If youre self employed like me you'll know what im talking about when i say that its very easy to work every day AND evening through december to cram in the amount of clients wanting appointments...all because we know that it will be quiet come January...but it is so important to put time aside (even just for an evening) to relax and actually enjoy the festive build up 🎅 Otherwise december goes by in a flash and before you know it you've blinked and christmas is done and over with for another year! Last night Phil and I decided that as we both had a rare evening free together that date night was in order and it was just what we needed 👍 What festive plans do you guys have in the build up to christmas, to help relieve the stress of this time of year?
This meal was eaten in The Green Ginger a Wetherspoons establishment in Torquay. A Christmas pizza with pigs in blankets and cranberry sauce and a bowl of loaded chips. Washed down with a couple of pints of delicious A Christmas Tale from Wickwar.
The Wetherspoons is directly above a revolution bar which was slightly confusing at first. The pizza and pints were good but a particular highlight of this Wetherspoons was the drunk lad laying on the floor at 6.30pm on a Monday evening.
I first went to the ‘British’ Museum about a year ago and they wouldn’t let me in because they said my bag was too big. Can’t I just leave it with you? I asked the guy, but he said no. The irony of having an entire museum full of other peoples’ shit and yet they couldn’t look after a little of mine for an hour or so was not lost on me. I returned this summer and had a good look around and there’s stuff from all around the world that was largely plundered back when we were the plunderers-in-chief of the world. If you go to the so called British bit there’s just some bits of flint and half a sack of old potatoes that they found in some bog in Stoke; it’s ludicrous and pathetic. About time we handed everyone’s shit back to them don’t you think? The building would make a truly glorious Wetherspoons.
P.S. wrote a poem about these trips and hopefully it will see the light of day at some point.
This was a shambles of a breakfast in @wetherspoonsofficial I've had one for the last few weeks and they've come out cold, and what's going on with the poor portions of beans lately? #wetherspoons#wetherspoonsbreakfast
So we went to spoons last night and celebrated the new potential job I may or may not have. (Got to think positive). We walked in and I was torn between a pint of Coors ooooor a pint of Old Rosie, then I see a 30 litre. Yeah, a 30 litre box of it and turned to ash and said "thats what I need in my life" the woman behind the bar obviously over head and started laughing, then the beautiful words came from her mouth as she looked at us and said " I can pour you a pitcher of old rosie and put it through as 2 pints if you like" ... and that is where the story began and I became super happy with a nice jug of Old Rosie.
Thank you @kablooski and thank you, lady at spoons.
