Your mind may tell you to stay inside the comforts of your routine, but your soul is asking you to get into the elements. Seeing all these guys hit 250+ left me wondering "how?" Shortly after, I ran a sub 5:30 mile, and consistently held a 7min pace over the course of multiple miles.
David Barnett asked a question. Which athlete do you think is the most impressive?
A.) 600 pound deadlift, 9:00 mile, 5 strict pull-ups.
B.) 200 pound deadlift, 5:00 mile, 15 strict pull-ups
C.) 400 pound deadlift, 7:00 mile, 10 strict pull-ups
I went back to thinking why I felt down on my lift. It was a Personal Best! I thought to myself "what does that 275 snatch guy run in his mile?" Then thought, can he cycle 112 miles in 6hrs? I broke the infamous Crossfit benchmark "Fran" under 3 mins last month. I've gone 137 WallBalls to a 10' target unbroken...sub (5:15), BTW 150 unbroken wallballs "Karen" is a another crossfit benchmark. GOALS... I'll get that SOON!
I asked myself would I substitute my 330 back squat and all the progress work to get to 350lbs, or be happy with a 450lbs. back squat if I couldn't swim 2.4 miles in an 75mins?
After reading the remarks from David's post, I smiled. My purpose is to be as fit as possible in any given moment. Applying attention to just lifts or vise versa just endurance, stunts growth in overall health and fitness. I understand we all have our gifts, and enjoyments on one over the other. Just enjoy the process, but don't neglect learning new things. 2019 here we come!! Thoughts? What is your goal or goals in making you a more well rounded?
Happy #firstanniversary to these two sweet souls! (Albeit belated congratulations due to a busy family weekend.) When @samanthaw76 (a florist herself) and I first spoke she told me she couldn’t imagine limiting herself to just one or two colors for her flowers. Thus her gorgeous rich and seasonal #bridalbouquet was magic, without being too Christmas.
