Autumn hike with my dad. 🍂🍁 Durand Eastman Park has been an integral part of my life. Ever since I was a baby, my family has been going on hikes here. We know this park very well. It’s familiar and beautiful. Ever changing, but oddly still the same.
Happy First day of Fall!!! From Hawaii and Alaska all the way to Maine and everywhere in between, the United States offers a special amenity to ALL its residents and even anyone who comes to visit. That special one-of-a-kind amenity is our Public lands. These are the places we use for hunting/fishing/trapping, outdoor recreation, education, and other enjoyments. These public lands include national parks, monuments, wildlife refuges, forests, grasslands, marine sanctuaries, lakes, rivers and reservoirs, as well as state, county, and city parks that are managed by public agencies. All of these places, no matter how big or how small, belong to and are enjoyed by everyone. This year marks the 25th anniversary of #publiclandsday in the United States as well as the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System and National Wild & Scenic Rivers System. You can celebrate by volunteering for a work project in the out of doors, visit a national park (FOR FREE) or even just partake in your favorite outdoor activity and share it with the hashtag #npsvolunteer#npl or #findyourpark With Archery season opening in just a short 8 days in the southern zone, I’ll be taking advantage of my public lands to try and fill my tag! Its important to remember that we all own these lands and in order to keep them in public hands for generations to come, we have to teach their importance to our children and others who are just blissfully unaware. So celebrate our public lands today, get up and get out there! #publiclandowner#nationalpubliclandsday#bureauoflandmanagement#nationalwildlifefederation#nationalparkservice#backcountryhuntersandanglers#westernnewyork
Not my photo, but just sharing the love for public transit in smaller cities. Shame on Rochester for gutting the subway and then blocking it up from its adoring fans.
At least our sister to the West is still running her rails 🐃
I’ve held out long enough – operation embrace all things autumn starts NOW! I started by decorating the front steps a bit today but I’m struggling with what to put in that orange container. Dried wheat? Corn stalks? Nothing? What would you do? Help a girl out!
