A helpful tip is to drink your smoothies, kefir & juices etc only slightly chilled (ask for no ice!) or at room temperature if possible. 
In ancient traditions like Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine they mostly advocate cooked foods as they believe it supports ‘agni’ the digestive fire 🔥 & say that it helps promote optimal digestion. It’s  pretty much a massive hug 🤗 for your tummy & in my experience, staying away from ice cold food, makes me feel so light and energized!

Ideally we should be going to the bathroom 1-3 times day. 
Besides the fact that it’s SO uncomfortable, constipation creates a back up in our colon which leads to toxins being released into our bloodstream & then reabsorbed. The result? Autointoxication. This creates all kinds of skin issues, moodiness, sluggishness & general inflammation. Over time this constant inflammation leads to more serious chronic diseases.

In the morning, for breakfast or as part of your breakfast, try a glass of fresh pressed organic carrot juice (500ml) with 2 tablespoons of cold pressed flax oil. 
Carrots 🥕 nourish the mucous membranes in our colon stimulating movement & the juice has a load of soluble fibre. 
Flax oil lubricates the colon & provides essential polyunsaturated omega 3 fats.
Plus the carotenoids (orange pigment in plants 🍂🥕) can only be absorbed by the body if fat is present!

For this batch of granola I used gluten free oats, mixed nuts (almonds, coconut, cashews), mixed seeds (pumpkin & sunflower) tossed with a little coconut oil & cinnamon and lightly baked it in the oven. 
Once it was slightly browned I added a couple teaspoons of raw local honey & some goji berries - it’s important to add these in at the end so that these superfoods maintain their nutritional integrity. 💪
As it cools it gets crunchy!
