@cloveandhallow Lip Glaze in Angelic:: I’m not a huge fan of glosses, but I popped this on and found that the formula isn’t heavy or sticky. Up until now, I’ve only had matte nude lipsticks, so this will be good to switch up a nude lip with sheen. Also the brush applicator is fun.
@juicebeauty Green Apple Cleansing Bar:: This soap is made up of a blend of oils and fruit juices to moisturize and refresh. The citrus scent is enough to win me over and will be perfect for a jolt of aromatherapy in the morning shower.
@munskincare Anarose Toner:: I love a toner. There’s something about that extra step that makes me feel like I’m making my skin happy. This one balances your skin’s pH, exfoliates and calms inflammation with ingredients like rose water, hyaluronic acid and flower extracts. I’m going on a weekend trip and will be in the car for about 9 hours tomorrow…might just spritz this right on during the ride.
@vertmontperfumery in Cyrena:: A gardenia and magnolia blend that is surprisingly strong for an all-natural perfume - I could smell it though the closed box! I usually go for more spicy and earthy scents, but interested in how this wears with middle notes of cacao and amber.
@goldfadenmd Clarify + Clear Mask:: Any natural product that claims ‘facial detox’ is immediately going on my face. Star ingredients include zinc oxide, sulfur and camphor. As you can imagine, it smells a bit like dirt, and I mean that in the best way possible. Going to try this tonight and will let you know how it goes.
As I stand here in my kitchen drinking cup of coffee preparing to spend the day with my nieces taking in art and enjoying each other there are babies being held in detention camps in my country.
Someone reached out to me yesterday asked why I was posting about my “issues" and if I even cared about what was going on because I wasn’t posting about that.
Let me clear something up. My seeming silence on social media does not reflect my political or religious stand. The ability to post on social media is in & of itself a privilege. It is also, often, simply more noise in an echo chamber. I can post about the reprehensible plight of these children and families and almost everyone I know will like my post and agree with me. Those who disagree with me hid my statuses a long time ago because they could not handle the “liberal” side of me.
Let me be clear. I have never been right enough for the right or left enough for the left. I believe that “Love God, Love People” is the only truth that matters. I have been standing for justice issues far longer than most people even knew they existed and have not changed who I am with one political or religious situation.
Today, in my country, IN MY STATE, there are babies being ripped from their parents, numbers are being assigned to them, and they are being held in large facilities. No, you have not seen a post on this until now, but I have not been silent. I have been right where I should be doing every tangible thing I know to do right now and investigating what more can be done.
Today I will laugh with my babies & I will hold them closer than I ever have before. I will tearfully recognize this is a privilege that hundreds of families who were feeling tyranny only to run straight into the arms of terror at our borders (because make no mistake we are the terrorist in this scenario.) will not have.
I will also call my congressmen, I will write letters, I will donate, I continue to research and put my hands to the task of whatever tangible thing I am capable of doing to fight for these children….but I probably won’t post about it again.
Wherever we visit, Andrew and I always make a point of shopping, sipping, and eating local - supporting neighborhood cafés and roasters, bakers and mills, growers and creators to not only celebrate economy and craft, but really connect with the heart of community. Stepping out of the confines of tourist to wholly embrace local, every corner of the world can feel like home • Anyways, from today’s wander around Edinburgh- baguette in one hand (to accompany an absolutely necessary, yet absurd amount of not-shown Scottish 🧀), GREEN juice in the other + a latte and baby in my belly.. aka essentials #20weeks#SomeplaceWilder

This oil is perfect to use in the diffuser because it has a fresh clean invigorating scent. Not only does it make your home smell great, it's also very good to use to help relieve the sypmtoms of coughs and colds, as well as headaches.
You can also use it topically to relieve muscle and joint pain. Dilute it 50/50 with a carrier oil and massage onto your feet, or sore muscles after a workout.

I don’t have a lot of “real” plants in my home because 1. I DON’T have a green thumb and 2. even though, we have a pretty big apartment, there’s not a lot of wall space. This little corner is about it. I’ve been wanting a snake plant for quite some time and I know they’re pretty hard to kill, so I decided the dogs are just going to have to share their little corner with this guy. My husband named him RJ which was our dog’s name when we adopted him from the shelter. 😂 Anyway, now I’m in a totally plant lady phase and I want a lot more. We have high ceilings and a lot of space above our tv so I’m thinking of getting some floating shelves and adding some small plants up there. On top of loving the aesthetic, I love that they purify the air. I’m all about easy ways to create a healthy, clean home! Who else loves filling their home with plants? What are some more plants that are hard-to-kill? Those are what I need!!

The more people who speak about their struggles the more others feel like they too can open up. It’s giving them a reason to feel ok to speak up. No need to be in complete shock. They’re just saying what’s up. It’s ok to be sensitive. Those who act tough and mighty are just afraid to release their sensitivities because they’re afraid of what weakness may look like. Just keep that in mind✨

it’s hot af in nyc right now so not sure why i’ve been craving grain bowls.. 🤷🏾♀️ i give the bod what it wants tho! basil quinoa + peeled cucumber slices (worth it and takes 5 seconds..makes cucumber so much more refreshing) + hunk of avo sprinkled with everything but the bagel seasoning + parsley + salt .
deats on the basil quinoa: add 1/2 cup quinoa + 1 cup water + hanfdul stemmed basil + salt to a saucepan and simmer with fire on low ~30 minutes then turn off heat and let sit in pan for ~10+ minutes for optimal fluffiness!

Let's talk perspective. Meet my two favorite dogs, (mine of course) Bandit & Friday. Take take a look at them, and observe if you would; Bandit on the left and Friday on the right. Bandit is a lab mix. Friday is Heinz 57 mix.. My Point is; - They are both dogs. Friday in all her cuteness, is much more petite compared to Bandit; because, well, that’s just Friday's size. Would I EVER berate Bandit and tell him that he has a big fat butt? HECK NO! Although side-by-side, his butt is indeed appreciably larger than Friday’s.... But his butt is PERFECT for his size. So why can’t we, as humans, also realize that we come in different shapes and sizes? Why can’t we cut ourselves some slack instead of comparing our butts to everybody else’s all the time?
Once again, treat yourself like your dog treats you, unconditional love. Self love lessons number one AND two…!.
Being healthy takes work... trust me! I’d know 😅 I was sicker than a dog and honestly was on my way to an early death. Then I started taking control of my health. I started on the keto/paleo diet. I lost weight and wasn’t sick per say... but I still lacked health. 🤷🏼♀️ It wasn’t until I went back to school that it became abundantly clear that I was eating the wrong way and all data pointed to a plant based diet as ideal for human health. 📈 I switched and for the first time in my life- I was thriving and seeing HEALTH! Plant based living has benefits out the wazoo. So, just because you aren’t sick yet, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take the plunge. It’s so worth it!! 😍
Raw Rainbow Salad with Quinoa + Herbs 🌿The one is fresh to death! The veggies are in the spotlight is this raw vegetable salad that will nourish every single cell in your body and make you feel amazing. The quinoa and edamame pack a pretty decent protein punch but I added hemp seeds for even more protein and because hemp seeds are life. Not to be bossy, but the fresh herbs are kind of mandatory here 🙃 I used chives and parsley but basil would be also awesome in this salad!
Quinoa, edamame, broccoli, red pepper, carrots, fresh chives + parsley, olive oil, fresh squeezed lemon juice, Himalayan pink salt, cracked pepper, garlic powder.

Ina Garten’s famous Zucchini Pancakes. Paleofied. I went there, and I came back with delicious knowledge. Ever since @bonappetitmag did a special on these green cakes of wonder they’ve been on my to-cook list. I’m happy to report my grain and dairy free version is top notch. The best part - no zucchini sweating required. An even better part - top with lemon garlic yogurt sauce, torn bacon, and quick pickled golden beet (which eerily looks like shredded cheddar). Get the recipe below and enjoy these guys for any meal of the day. #AUnaturelle
Paleo Zucchini Pancakes
2 zucchini, grated
2 T red onion, grated or dried shallots
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 T ground flaxseed
2 T bacon grease or preferred cooking fat
6 T cassava flour, I use @ottos_cassava_flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp coarse sea salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat + preheat oven to 300. Grate the zucchini using a box grater or food processor. No need to squeeze out excess liquid! Just add to a large bowl and stir in the egg and onion. Next, add the flaxseed + cassava flour until well incorporated. Then add the salt, pepper and baking soda. Add a small spoonful of bacon grease to pan and once hot, spoon in about 1/4 cup of batter. Cook until golden brown, at least 2 minutes on each side, then transfer to oven on a sheet pan to keep warm. Pancakes can be kept in oven for up to 30 min. Enjoy!

since last summer, i’ve stopped using plastic straws at home and ordered a set of steel straws. i was using straws everyday (for my ACV-lemon conconction – which btw pls drink apple cider vinegar through a straw!!!), and wasn’t really thinking about exactly how much harm a lil tiny piece of plastic could cause overtime: straws cannot be recycled and we use 500million plastic straws daily in the US!!!

Instead of drinking plain water, always infuse your water with cucumber and lemon and mint....Apart from keeping your weight in check,it will give you a clear skin.Another is taking water with a tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar.This also prevents the abdomen from protruding.These are just a few amongst others.NOTE that even if you are not overweight,you can do the above mentioned therapies.You can alternate it;1 week on and 1 week off.
